Remove the the drawer of the gas range on the bottom, on the right side there is a alluminum cover with a bunch wires, held on with two screws,inside is the igniter kit module, make sure you unplug the range from the wall . unplug the wires from the unit and plug the new unit up and you are finish.Good luck.

First, I removed the racks, door, bottom drawer, and lifted the bottom pan up and out from the rear. Then, I unscrewed the bottom cover for the electrical stuff (under where the drawer is) as this is where the connector for the igniter is. I did a voltage test on the oven side of the connector, finding voltage there I removed the igniter by removing the 2 screws holding it to the burner. (pack lunch for that part, they will be rusted, I used a mini grinder to cut off the heads). Then I pulled the connector through the hole, and installed new igniter using self drilling screws. After i repacked the insulation, I put it back together, and it lit right up. The failed one had a bad ballast, confirmed by a continuity test.

Removed the two screws that support the hot surface igniter. Removed the rear cover to disconnect the igniters wire harness and removed old igniter. Installed replacement igniter by fastening with the old screws and sending the plug harness through the ovens rear opening. Connected igniter into the harness and installed the rear cover.

Unpluged then stove, turned of the gas.Unpluged the igniter from the harness, unscrewed the igniter and pulled it out through the front of the stove.Installed in reversed order.Stove works like new. The part got to Alaska in 2 days. Thank you for your service.

A very common problem for ovens not heating up is the oven igniter going bad. Depending on how much you use your oven, they only last about 5 years. It is easy to replace, but getting it off can be a little tricky since the screws are exposed to so much heat. Once you got it off, you can unclip the old one and clip the new one right in. Then bolt it back on, throw in the racks and shelves, and start cooking. I replaced the igniter twice, the temperature sensor once, and the control panel once.

First we removed the two screws that hold the element in place. Then detached the wire from underneath the oven. We then had to pull out the oven to access the back panel. We unscrewed the back panel and detached the second wire. Then we revearsed the process and installed the new igniter. The whole thing from start to finish took about 35min. This was very easy to do and I am happily baking once again. The whole family is happy about that :)

unplugged the oven, unplugged the ignitor and removed the two screws

1. Unscrewed glass cover on bulb
2. Removed old bulb
3. Screwed in new bulb
4. Replaced glass cover
5. Mixed drink & baked cupcakes

2 screws easy to remove and plug in the wire. job done.

My husband took the plastic cover off and took out old bulb and screwed in the new one. Then put the cover back on.

Removed the 3 screws fastening the ign. bracket to pan housing & gas burner, pulled out the assy., removed the 2 wire nuts, removed the shield from old ign. ceramic, slipped in new ignitor ceramic, pushed the assy. back into pan opening, replaced the 3 screws & fired it up. Gas came on within 30 sec. of ignition. Put a pie in for 45min. & completed the cycle. Enjoyed the pie. Thanks for the help Parts Select.

the igniter would glow but the gas would not flow...
i would have guessed the valve was bad, but every one else thought it was the igniter.. they were right. verry easy to install. the stove worjks like new.

Un-did the old one put in the new. Iam 63 years old and a woman. Repair men wanted 500.00 plus to come out and repair I did it for cost of igniter in 15 min. Oven works great! Thanks parts select for making it so easy!
