Removed lower burner covers and fan cover to access igniter. Unscrewed igniter and pulled out as far as possible. Marked both wires and snipped them. Twisted on wires from new igniter and mounted igniter. Pulled excess wire thru to back of oven and reassembled covers from first step. The oven would no longer light
My husband was able to easily remove the old part, and replace with the new ignitor. The wires were long, so he took the extra precaution of tying them away from the flame. It took longer to take everything out and put it back together than the actual repair..

Oven would not light; gas odor
This was a very easy project.
-First, I removed the two bolts holding the old igniter. Second, I clipped the wires then stripped them. Next, I connected the wires with the wire nuts. Finally, I attached the igniter with the old bolts. I plugged it back in, and it worked better than ever. My husband was very impressed that I repaired our stove myself!

Oven wouldn't get hot..smell of gas
Replaced the flat style oven igniter. Turn off gas and unplug oven. Removed the broiler drawer, cut wires, unscrewed oven igniter (using a small/medium adjustable wrench), connected wires, fastened new igniter to bracket, spliced wire, twisted together, plugged oven back in, turned gas on, turned on oven after a few minutes...worked great.
