Just took a screwdriver and pried off the broken coupling as the instruction said with the part. Don't stress it really works and is easy. Ordered the part on Monday and recieved it on Tuesday. Great service from Partselect!

Thanks to the good advise of those who did this before me ,I know I need a very slender wrench to get between the screwed on base of the coupling and the copy of the base of the blender.
I tried to file one myself, but the metal was too weak. Because i had the size (from what I filed), I measured and knew i needed a 7 MM wrench. I bought one at the parts store and ground it thin enough to slip into the small space and from there it was a five minute job.

A very flat wrench or needle nose pliers was needed. I could not get the nut unscrewed with what I had so I had to mail the unit to a service center for repair. They were able to use the part I had purchased but if I had known I wouldn't be able to do it I could have saved a little money in the shipping I had to pay when I ordered the part.

Remove blender jar to get to drive cog. Use a 1/4 to 3/8 flat open-end wrench to hold cog shaft then turn the cog with your hand CLOCKWISE to loosen. Screw new cog gear on COUNTERCLOCKWISE hand tight. Reassemble your blender and you're good to go. It takes a very thin flat wrench but even if you have to buy a set the're not very expensive. The most challenging portion of the repair was the removal of the old coupling. I ended up using a punch and a hammer. Tapped clockwise several times. It took about 20 times. Once the old coupling is removed the installation of the new was super-easy. Just screwed it counter clock wise by hand and was ready to go.

As others have said, secure the motor by carfully inserting a scredriver thru the bottom of the base unit, with pliers turn the old coupling clockwise
(opposite of normal) until loose, spin it off, spin the new on counterclockwise, done.

Removed base bolts. Removed base. Replaced coupling. Replaced base

Removed the old worn-out coupling and replaced with the new one as described in the instructions included with the new part.

When the part came it had complete repair instructions with it. I followed the instructions and it was very easy. I had to pry the old coupleing off the threaded shaft. You wouldn't think that would work but the coupleing was made of soft metal so when you pry it off the hard metal shaft it didn't mess up the threads. Then you just screw the new part on counterclockwise and the first time you use the blender it tightens itself. Very easy!!

By placing a screwdriver under the bottom of the coupling and lifting up. vary easy to replace. save over a $200.00 applaince. Thanks

Using information from other users, I pried/ripped the rubber portion off the drive coupler, leaving the aluminum disc base exposed. I did not have a thin flat wrench of the right size to hold the drive shaft, so I wound up carefully inserting the wrench into the motor to keep it from turning while I loosened the disc with pliers. Once loosened, it was easily unscrewed, and the new coupling screwed on.

I used a screwdriver as the printed instructions said. After prying it off (took a bit of prying) with a screwdriver, I discovered the thing screws backwards. It would have been easier for me to use needle-nosed plyers to hold the shaft and turn the coupler by hand. Oh well. Works fine anyway.

I followed instructions to the letter. I used a long, flat blade screwdriver and slowly pried around the old coupling until it finally came off. The only hard part was having to continually work at it and I wasn't sure I was doing an adequate job but I was afraid of breaking something. But it did come off and I cleaned the metal filings with a dry toothbrush and screwed on the new coupling. wala!

I was able to remove old part, clean the area, and install new part in less than 30 minuets. The short video on the website and on my return email helped me feel better about removing old part without stripping out anything, because area was tight with nothing to grab on to.

I removed the old coupling, with some difficulty I imagine due to the age of the blender, I then simply screwed the new part counterwise as instructed and it is working perfectly now!
