Our Pure Source 2 Ice&Water Filter had not been changed in over a year when we bought this home.
We just removed the old filter and installed the new one. Very simple. We are very pleased. Also the filter arrived at our home the day after I placed the order!! Even more reason to be very pleased.

I twisted off housing and removed used filter.
I placed a bowl under the filter to catch drips. I wrapped two rubber grippers around the housing and twisted to the left with all my strength. (I am a weak woman). I removed the used filter and inserted the new one. I used the grippers again to replace housing over the new filter. Voila! All done for 6 months.
