How do i install the charcoal filter? Directions please.
For model number JVM7195EK1ES

Hello Darlene, thank you for your question. The charcoal filter is located behind the air vent above the door. The vent can be removed by removing the two mounting screws that hold it into place on the top of the unit. Then open the door and slide the grille to the left and lift it up to remove. Push the old filter up and then pull it out, and reinstall the new filter. Insert the grille back into the tabs and slide it to the right and re thread the mounting screws that hold the grille into place. Good luck with your repair!

The red light that says reset filter hold 3 seconds has come on. But I have misplaced my book that came with it. Can you tell which filter needs to be replaced, why, and how often?
For model number DVM7195SK2SS/JVM7195SK2SS

Hello Sherry,
Thanks for your question. The charcoal and grease filters should be replaced when they are dirty or discolored, usually after 6-12 months. The charcoal filter is part number PS7783258, while the grease filter is part number PS3506741. You may need to visually examine both to see which is dirty.
I hope this helps.

HI Janice, Thank you for the question. The charcoal filter above the cabinet just pulls out and the new one just pushes back in place. Filter should be changed at least every six to eight months depending on the use. Hope this helps!

I have a newer GE microwave #pvm9215sk3ss, serial # lm209769b. The filter light has come on. How do i turn the reset filter light off and what type filter do i need to order and where do i replace it? The limited manual that came with it does not address any of this. Thank you!
For model number PVM9215SK3Ss

Hello John, thank you for your question. There are two grease filters under the unit which are PartSelect Number: PS3506741 and a charcoal filter behind the upper grille vent which is PartSelect Number: PS7783258. We would recommend replacing all the filters. To reset the filter light press and hold the filter reset button until it resets. I hope this helps.

Ordrerd by correct dinmensions of height and width. The GE replacement parts were too thin, but since I ordered two of them I glued them together. Works fine.
