dryer timer stopped advancing forward
My dryer's timer stopped moving forward, but everything else worked fine. After looking online it was clear that the timer needed to be replaced.

Note: Use your dryer's model number when ordering, not the model number of the timer (there are multiple versions of the timer, all with the same model).

To replace the timer, I just popped the latches to the dryer's lid by sliding my ruler into the gap between the lid and the front side. With the lid open and the power disconnected , all I had to do was unplug the electrical wires with a plier (for ease), and unscrew the 2 screws behind the timer knob which just pulled off.

My dryer is now working great again!

I have a 22 yr old dryer, the timer does not advance but it will work manually. I suspect it is the timer but the only price I found was $350.00, half the cost of a new dryer. Do you have any suggestions? Is there a cheaper fix or continue to use manually? Thanks Keith

Hi Keith, Thank you for your question. It does sound like this could be the timer. If this is only happening on one cycle, the gears for that section are worn and the timer will need to be replaced. I would also check the door switch and the timer knob to see if those parts are causing the issue as well. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
