Easy repair
The part was exactly what we needed .The website is great if you know your model # can find the correct part. This repair was easy but we did needed the rope pulleys for the door of dishwasher which we found and purchased at this website. We realized we misplaced the springs so had to get those as well. We watched YouTube videos of the repair but it was pretty straightforward.

Dishwasher door became heavy and would fall to the floor if you didn't hold it up.
Removed mounting screws from sides of disher. Removed broken piece of connector assy still attached to hinge. Attached new connector assy to hinge then looped it around pulley with spring attached to opposite end. Need both hands to pull spring up to side of tub and connect it. I would suggest replacing both connector assemblies while you have the dishwasher pulled out. Push dishwasher back in and mount with screws.

The hinge spring and/or connector assembly were not functioning, so the dishwasher door was extremely heavy.
Replacing the spring and connector assembly (the cord had frayed and broken) was easy and took only a matter of minutes to do. Wrestling the dishwasher in and out of its space under the counter was very difficult. Because my kitchen is compact, I had to move the refrigerator first, then disconnect the Romex cable and water lines from the dishwasher before I could pull it fully from under the counter. The side panels have screws in the front and the back, so the appliance had to be moved out until its back was exposed. But I got the job done and the door works just like a new one now!

Something snapped in the door and the door fell. Now when I open the door, I have to hold it and lower it to the floor slowly. What part(s) do I need to fix this?
For model number LDS4821ST
Hello Bindu, Thank you for the question. This sounds like the Connector Assembly broke, PartSelect Number PS3524406. This dishwasher door hinge cable assembly connects the door to the spring. The door hinge cable and the door spring apply tension to the door to prevent it from dropping open too quickly. This part contains two plastic pieces which are approximately 2 inches in length by 3/4-inch in width, as well as a rope portion that measures approximately 8 inches in length. This part is sold individually and we recommend replacing both sides. Hope this helps!

I strongly suspect that either the door spring or cable for my dishwasher broke. I have not yet removed the unit from the cabinet as it would be tedious to remove and replace until I have replacement parts.
Question: Do I need one spring and cable assembly or does this model require two assemblies? (one on each side)
Thanks
For model number LDS5774ST
Hi Dan,
Thank you for your question. You will need 2 hinge cables, part number PS3524406, and 2 hinge springs, part number PS3524563. We hope this helps!
