fridge was warm
first remove the one screw holding the cover over the defrost timer, grasp the timer and unplug from the male plug end. insert the new timer. replace the cover and the one screw. plug in the fridge enjoy. my old fridge was 30 years old and i had to replace the timer many times.

The refigerator not getting cold and the freezer coils where a solid block of ice while the refrigerator never turned off.
After finding your web site, the description of my problem was pretty clearly referenced as to what parts where the likely problem. When I received the parts it was only a matter of unplugging the refrigerator, removing the cover in the freezer and cutting and stripping the two color coded wires for the thermostat and wire nutting the wires and putting wire tape on them. Then put the coil cover back on. Then in the refrigerator section, remove the controls cover and then take the controls compartment loose and unfasten the old defrost control, and install the new one. Then put every thing back in place. Plug the refrigerator back up and set the temperature to medium.
Water Leaking out of bottom of refrig first then out of vegetative bins underneath
Replaced defrost thermostat and defrost controller and also noticed that run capacitator for compressor almost oxidized in two and ordered and replaced and cleaned out drain tube and invertor (which was blocked by frozen peas and other food)or water to drain during defrost cycle and put everything back together and seems to work fine now....storing beer in outside refrig now

Where is the defrost timer located

Hi Jack, Thank you for the question. The Defrost Timer Control is located in the controls with the thermostat where you control the temperature settings. Hope this helps!

Refrigerator cooling - but freezer not maintaining cold enough temp to keep meats frozen. All fans are working, compressor turning on/off and no ice build up on evaporator coils - in fact no ice buildup @ all - suspect defroster circuit not regulating correctly? staying on too much? is this a common problem? any suggestions on repair? thanks in advance for your reply. sully

Hello Sully, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat, PartSelect Number PS303434.The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. You can also test the Defrost Control, PartSelect Number PS310930 to check for the continuity. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
