The part is not painted in one place and rusts
This is the second trim kit that I have received. The first one rusted out within a very short period of time. I purchased this one and examined it and found that the trim is not painted at the place the glass fits into it. As a result when water gets trapped in that spot it starts to rust immediately. These parts need to be painted on all of the exposed metal

Broken Handle
1. Order part 2. Remove 2 top screws holding vent cover and carefully remove cover 3. Open door all the way and lift, door will come of the microwave 4. Set door on a flat surface facing down 5. You will need a flat screwdriver,carefully set the screwdriver between the door and the black plastic and pry out completely 6. Remove screws holding handle. (This will be a good time to clean the inside of this door) 7. Attach new handle tighten screws 8. Put black plastic back in door and press on all around make sure that is set in place 9. Re-install door and vent.

The white painted metal trim around the glass front of our LFEF3017LWB range is rusted (don't know why?). Can I easily disassembled the door and replace the trim or is the door sealed together with adhesive or caulk? At the same time I also need to replace the white plastic Oven Door Cap which has yellowed. Thanks for your assistance.

Hello Stephen, Thank you for writing. To replace the trim you will need to remove the End Cap and handle. To do so you will need to remove the top screws on the inside of the door at the top corners that hold the handle and end cap in place. We hope this helps!
The oven door trim came with 316237303 ruban double face tape. Where does this go when installing new trim?
