Burner igniter needed to be replaced
Assumed the entire top of the range would have to be lifted off. Removed the three screws inside the top of the over door and then noticed the two screws holding the dish around the burner. They were tight and required WD-40 and then a sharp tap and came off. Important: Notice the direction your old igniter is plugged into the wire. It is not clear and can go on either way.

Front(gas) burners won't light
After the parts arrived.Unplugged the stove,and sarted taking a stove apart ,removing (4 torkx screws)from the top,disconnected electrical wires from electrod, and burner swith,(4ps).left&rigth front tube was installed.also replaced four electrod.Put everything back together with caution plug stove back in, and now,works like new,for other14 years or longer.If you can do the above you can save your self a bundle. Thank you parts dept for the good sevice.Happy new year
removed burners from cooktop, hardest part was to lift glass top because of the double back tape holding unit to counter, replaced damaged ignitor clip and reinstalled with new one, placed all parts back, job done. On dishwasher it was as simple as using nut driver to drive 8/16 self tapping screw onto new part and checking for arm rotating without hitting anything. done. thanks guys!
Oven igniter failed; electrode has been spotty for years.
STOVE Much easier to perform than expected. First, pull the plug. Second, lift door off hinges and remove bottom storage door. Then remove bottom tray (2 thumbscrews) and the head spreader below that (1 screw). Now disattach the two wire nuts that attach the igniter to electric (from bottom, where door was). I guess this has been changed once. If it had not been, might have had to cut these lines. Then, back inside the stove, remove the flame delivery tube or whatever it's called. It kind of twists as it pulls up. From there, it's easy to disattach the igniter with a wrench and then reassemble all in reverse order. Hardest part was getting one of the wire nuts to take. One of the replacement ones just did not grab, so reused one of the preexisting. OVEN Only hard part was getting the stovetop to release. Take off all the burner guards and such. Then lift the top slightly to locate the two push clips. Push each back in turn with a screwdriver, and this releases the stovetop, which rises up until it rests on two rests. Piece of cake to remove th electrode and attach new one. All working fine!
First I elevated range top, then removed cracked electride from connector pin. Installed new electrode and lowered range top and all was fine.

would not ignite
It was so easy.I removed the old part with the new with pliers. Voila/// it worked.

Electrode igniter for front large burner. Can igniter be replaced from the top by somehow removing existing igniter adjacent to burner base and if possible ,what holds existing in place

Hello Ben, thank you for your question. This repair is very easy. Another customer provided us this information: I removed the burner head and the Burner Cap , no tools are needed to remove these items. I pulled the igniter up far enough to get to the wire, disconnected and connected the new igniter put it back in place, reassembled the two parts plugged it back in and turned it on and it worked.

Replaced wb13k18 electrode in front right burner. Intermittent sparking continues . Is it the switch, the spark module or something else?? how to determine?

Thank you for your question. I would suggest testing your switch next with a multi meter to see if that is the part that is giving you the problem. If that part is fine, it may be your spark module that is the issue. You can also test that part with a multi meter as well. Good luck with your repair.

One of my electrodes will not spark...it will light with match or by turning another burner on lite setting so i ordered a new spark electrode...while waiting for shipment i decided to swap it for a different electrode but that same burner still won't spark...do i need a different part

Do you have a video showing replacement of spark igniter. Problem - there is no ticking sound and burner does not light, though you can smell the gas.Or do you think there is a different problem

Igniter on cooktop stays on (clicking). How do I fix it?

Hello Joel, Thank you for the question. The Gas Valve Switch PartSelect Number PS236791 is normally the part that makes the clicking noise. I suggest checking this part with a multi meter or the Spark Electrode to see if they are defective. Hope this helps!

Cooktop is making a popping/clicking sound every few seconds. Mainly when moister outside is high. Stops for awhile and starts back up again. Gas GE profile 5 burner cooktop.

Thanks for your question. You may want to test the spark electrodes with a multimeter for electrical continuity. Replace them if they do not show continuity. You may also want to test the switches from the wire harness.
