This Flat Beater is used as a mixing attachment for all six quart mixers and some five quart mixers. The Flat Beater is made from metal and has a burnished finish. This part attaches to the mixer on the planetary. The Flat Beater should be replaced if the coating has started to come off or if the arms have bent at all. It is recommended to wash this part by hand to prevent the coating coming off sooner.

The part we received did not look like the picture above. The part we received was dipped in silver paint and will chip. We were very disappointed as we could have bought the part locally that was dipped for much cheaper. We paid the extra expecting to get the all metal one.

Mixer had a broken planetary
Mixer was given to me and I went on the Internet and found Partselect and they had the items I needed to repair the unit. I've worked on appliance's for a long time and for just a few dollars I repaired a $500.00 mixer for less than $35.00. The repair is very simple remove the cover band, then the four (4) cover screws, Then the four (4) gear case cover screws. The top of the old planetary shaft is there remove the snap ring, remove the attachment gear, then remove the pin by pushing it out, push down on the old shaft. Install the new planetary by doing the disassembly in reverse. Mark
replaced the two Bearing slides thanks to your video repair was quite easy
