Demo stove exhaust fan and tile backsplash, install over range microwave, rotate exhaust fan and adjust exhaust plenum.
Whirlpool Microwave was purchased as used item, so installation in a new location required purchase of mounting template, wall bracket, mounting hardware. Granite backsplash cut out using wet/dry diamond blade and Ryobi 6.5 inch saw. Microwave exhaust fan removed and rotated for upward exhaust using modified exhaust plenum from existing stove exhaust hood. Installation of Microwave was the simplest part of the job. All mounting materials worked as required. A list of the materials provided in the hardware mount kit would be helpful, I would not have had to order the top mount screws separately if it was clear that they were included in the kit. Otherwise, no complaints.
Getter level with cabinet and use stud finder to make it easy.
I measured. I leveled. I mounted hanging bracket and here's where it got tricky because you need two people to raise the microwave into position. I'd stack 2x4's In the back by the wall. I'd stackem in the front on the cabinet top then raise the back and add more. You get it front back front back until it's high enough to snag the bracket. Holes pre drilled raise it on up tighten bolts and poof you're done!! I did loosen the screws that pull the cabinets together and the bottom screw that holes the cabinet on one side. It didn't seem like it needed it the way it slipped in but maybe it slipped in because I did it. Only takes a minute. Use a minute here save an hour there. Go do it! Times a wastin!!

Wrong mounting plate
Two Mounting plates # PS12074431 were sent to me and both do not fit. Model number MMV1175JZ-0 Serial number TRX-17. 24546 Manufactured April 2020 Contacted Maytag and even sent pictures to show the problem with alignment of the mounting plate not fit in the back of the microwave.
I had a cabinet person install new kitchen cabinets and counter top. After the demolition of the the old cabinets, I had to buy new parts for the new instal
I had the help of a handyman, I'm 75 years young but not handy with tools
I removed the microwave to install a back splash and found the support edge on the backplate had broken off and was missing. I searched for parts for the microwave and found them on PartsSelect.com. Easy to order, and was shipped promptly.
Once the part arrived, install was simple, lining up the existing holes. The only hard part was setting the microwave up on the bracket due to the weight and awkwardness of the microwave.
Overall a very simple repair.

We had bought 2 of these undercabinet microwaves and the one is missing the wall bracket. I just installed the one unit and the bracket was just a smaller about 2" high bracket. When i researched the part it show a u shaped bracket. I need a bracket but want to make sure i get the correct one. I've installed many microwaves and am sure that either would work, but i'm just double checking. Thanks

I have a Whirlpool microwave n the mounting bracket holds the bottom part. My microwave actually pulled out the cabinet. Just hanging by the bottom bracket which was the only one it had when I purchase it. Is there another mounting bracket more sturdier for this microwave. Show me picture please.
