8" surface element wouldn't work
Unplug the unit. Open the oven door. Remove the two screws that the top surface is mounted on. Lift the top surface. If you have a hood or a microwave mounted above the stove like we do, you may consider asking a friend to hold the top open while you finish the job. Remove the old element by removing two screws/brackets and disconnecting the wires. Put the new element in place, attach with the screws/brackets, and re-connect the wires.

Original element was broken
First, I would like to appreciate providing a diagram of the product with a clear schematic. It was very easy to identify the item that I was looking for(an element). The serial number shown against the schematic enabled me to identify the item and pace the order.
Second, the item was delivered on time as promised.
Finally, the item that I purchased was very easy to replace. It came in as a full assembly. Just removed 4 screws, removed the damaged element and plugged in the new one. Thats it!!!
l certainly recommend this site to others to perform a self repair of their home appliances.

While replacing my cabinets I put my knee through the top of the stove
I had to take the two screws that hold the top of stove on .Then I had to disconect the plugs for the
all of the burners. I then placed the old top and the new top side by side upside down so I could take all the burners off the old top and place them on the new then put the new top back on the stove.
