one heating element burned out on dual element
disconnect power to range,took top off range turn upside down, remove screws holding element, disconnect wires to element and replace element with new element put every thing back as in reverse order and the range is working fine again.

Trouble on the right front burner. Continuity checks good on both elements of this burner. Had a spontaneous short the other day in this area when not on and just standing by it, which immediately kicked the breaker. After taking off the glass top no signs of short ( soot, etc ) ... is there a way to check the switch before trying to re energize the system with out taking the complete unit out?

Hello Richard, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the issue is probably with the dual surface burner switch kit, part number PS2003583. In order to check the switch, you may need to remove the top panel of the cooktop and disconnect the switch from the wire harness. With the help of a multimeter, you will check the continuity of the switch by placing both probes of the multimeter on the switch terminals. The multimeter will beep if there is continuity in the switch. We hope this is helpful!
Should I replace the new epic sensor with the sensor from the failed element? The new element epic sensor has a different terminal arrangement then the failed element. The element sent by parts select has confusing re-wiring `hard- to understand` instructions.
