My refrigerator, Whirlpool model: Wrt318fmdw01, is too cold. The temperature is varying between 26 33 degrees. It has been suggested that the solution would be a new main control board. Does this make sense?

Hi Bob, there can be a variety of causes for a fridge being to cold. It may be blocked air from the freezer vents going into the fridge for example. How do I reset the control board?

How do you reset the control board on this model?

Hello Ron, Thank you for the question. The model number provided is not coming up valid sorry, but checking the part information it is not giving details on how to reset the board. You can try to unplug the power from the appliance and let it sit for 30 mins and reconnect power. If the board is still not working, it will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Compressor starts but fridge or freezer don't get cold
For model number WRT318FZDM01
Hello Tracy, thank you for the question. If your compressor is usually hot, you may need to replace the capacitor, part number PS11757023. Check your temperature sensor using a multimeter. It should read 1000-1100 ohm at room temperature. If the temperature sensor, part number PS12745758, does not show this resistance, replace it. The condenser fan motor draws air through the condenser coils and over the compressor. If the condenser fan motor and evaporator fan motor are not working properly, the refrigerator will not cool properly. Use a multimeter to test them for continuity. If the condenser fan motor, part number PS12114471, and the evaporator fan motor, part number PS11740359, do not have continuity, replace them. We hope this information helps!

Freezer works fine but fridge is too warm (7-10C). Both the freezer thermistor and the fridge thermistor show valid ohm readings. How do I check if the main control board (W10643378 C20OJ62150J8PK4) needs to be replaced?

If the Evaporator fan PS11740359 isn't working correctly, the cold air won't distribute evenly, leading to a freezer that runs but doesn't freeze as it should. Strange noises can also mean that the evaporator fan is malfunctioning. The Capacitor PS11757023 allows the compressor in your appliance to easily cycle on and off.
