I down loaded the dryer schematic and itentified items that would potentially cause the observed symptoms. Initially, I replaced the thermal fuse. After the symptoms returned after two loads, suspected the hi limit thermostat not regulating the heater element temperature. I located the thermostat using the illustrated parts list on your website and replaced the thermal fuse (second time) and the thermostats using a nut driver. The Blond hasn't announced a dryer stoppage since the repair, so I'm pronouncing the repair a success. Thank you for making the drawings and schematics available.

First I unplugged the dryer and slid it a few inches out from the wall. I slid 2 putty knives in the front top about 3 inches in from the sides. Released the top and raised it up. I used a multimeter to test the hi limit and the element, both were operational. I used a screwdriver to remove the 2 screws that hold the front panel in place. I lowered the panel slightly and disconnected the wires mentally noting the proper placement. With the front panel on the floor, the problem was obvious. I cleaned the lint clog under the lint screen that had caused the issue to begin with.I used a shop vac and cleaned the vent area as well as the front panel. I used a nut driver to remove the 2 screws that held the thermostat in place. The old thermostat fell apart in my hands. I covered the bare exposed wires with electrical tape. ( must have gotten HOT) and reattached the connections to the new thermostat, then replaced the 2 screws that held it secure. I stood the front panel back up and reattached the electrical connections and the 2 screws. I lowered the top and plugged it back into the outlet. I turned it on. It works like new.

Not being able to afford a new dryer we bought this dryer second hand, picked it up from the seller, moved it up a flight of stairs, plugged it in to find that it worked but didn't heat. We were so devastated and we just left it sit for a week or two because there was no time to deal with fixing it. During that time I continued to use the laundromat down the street to dry our clothes. Finally I got online to google the part number to see what I could find out and that's when I ran across this site. It gave me HOPE and all that I needed to know to fix it instead of hauling it back down those stairs and out of my life!!! First I bought an OHM meter, completely stripped down my dryer checking every part until I found one that was questionable (timer resistor assembly) and one that was definitely dead (a thermostat)...no reading! It's no wonder it was burnt out, the front cover of the dryer was impacted with lint that had no where else to go! Now I understand exactly why my mother & dad always reminded us to "clean out the lint filter". They must have gone through this once before themselves. I ordered the replacement parts late one evening and they showed up at my door by 2:00 pm the next day...it was awesome!!!!!! A big learning experience for me and it saved me a fortune. removed heating element, thermostat, and then replaced fuse. sorry, the control thermostat was not the problem. it was the fuse kit that failed. the control thermostat would have been easier to replace.

through the help of Parts select web site, i diagnosed the problem to the limit switch at the dryer element...I found the parts at Parts Select that included both limit switches and one control thermostat in one convient part number, the help videos are excellent, and the repair went flawlessly... basically the dryer front was removed, and then the drum with belt, that allowed me to get to both dryer element limit switches,and then replaced the thermostat at the bottom of the dryer below the drum, I reassembled the unit and it is working like new... thanks Parts Select, you saved me a lot of money.

Process of elimination. Replaced heating element and high limit heat thermostat . Replaced door button switch and timer. Still not working. Replaced control thermostat, and still not working. Purchased ohm meter and checked thermal fuse that comes with high limit kit. Bad thermal fuse. Replaced thermal fuse that comes with kit. Dryer now has tub light and working fine. Learning to use an ohm meter really helps, and will save you a lot of frustration.
