Water would overflow from the top of the machine
The repair was very easy. Remove a few screws, switch wiring one at a time so I put them in the correct position and replace. The hose replacement was easy at the swicth but a little more difficult at the lower end of the tub due to limited space. Overall an easy job and now it works fine!
Unplugged the electrical plug from outlet. Disconnected the water hoses after I turned off the water supply. Using a screwdriver, popped up the washer top. Using needlenose pliers, I removed the wired from the defective valve, and removed the hose that feeds water into the tub. From the back of the washer, I removed th screw holding the valve in place. Reaching inside the washer, I removed the defective valve. I attached the electrical wires and hose to the new inlet valve prior to installing the valve. After installing the valve in place, I inserted the screw in the the valve from the back of the machine. I then reattached the hot and cold water hoses, closed the top of the washer, turned on the water supply, and plugged the machine back into the electrical outlet. I turnd the machine on, then off, and the water was no longer dripping into the machine. Problem fixed.

Wash Cycle Would Not Start - No Water Would Flow
I took pictures at different steps in case I forgot how it was assembled. Unplugged the power, turned off the water hoses, unplugged the hoses, pulled the washer out, took of the access panel in the lower left hand corner, took of two tec screws that hold the water valve in place, removed the four wires that were attached to the water valve, removed the water hose attached to the water valve, reattached everything to the new water valve. The only difficulty is the access panel is a bit small
Replace valve by prying up the lid it is much easier than the small square entrance on back side bottom

Water would not shut off after filling desired level
Took out the two top screws out that hold the top down on the back so you can lift the lid up. Removed the cover plate on the back. Take out the screw that holds the valve in place. Reach up through the access panel and undo the to clips that hold the hose and wiring. Lift the lid up and pull the unit up and remove hose and electrical connections and put back in reverse order. Very simple to do.

Cold water no fill
Always check the basics first!
Mistakenly replaced the water valve (even though it was buzzing idicating it had power and showed 110V across terminals). Assumed the water lines were working. Turned out to be a clogged cold water line (safety valve clogged). Replaced both lines for good measure, machine working fine.

water was not going to the barrel
first I thought there is a problem with with hoses.problems like filter or hoses blocked.after I opened the hoses they were fine .Water was going out with power .Then I opened the valve connected to the hoses . I checked these hoses withe help of a 12 volt battery . the valve was not opening so I came to the conclusion that this part is broke.is not easy to change this part.Small place and hard to unlock the hose inside .They could design this much easier with just using longer hose. But I think then nobody will call service dept.

Water dripping from flume filled basin
I used a screwdriver to release the front side of the waaher top from the clips and tilted the washer top back. I then released the hose from the water valve and took out the mounting screws at the back. Replaced the valve and hooked everything back up.

Water would not shut off - overfilling tub - flood !
Researched "trouble shooting guide" Parts Select Website--
2 possible part failures - (1)--water fill valve inop-per Parts Select Web - 74 percent change of this unit failing. (2)--pressure line fractured - 24 percent chance of this unit failing......
Ordered both parts from Parts Select -
Replaced water fill valve (possible solenoid failure--(although a little difficult to get at valve replacemnt was easy - total porcess took a little less than an hour).
Needless to say - problem solved with valve replacement, this machine should be "good" for at least another 5 years.
Thanks for your kind help and most important - the easy to use data...........

When i start to fill my machine. It begins to leak water from the bottom. I'm pretty sure it's one the right side this is happening.. would this be a seel issue? and if so is this a diy fix?
For model number MAV208DAWW
Good Day William. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number MAV208DAWW). Based on our research, this may be the result of damaged or missing gaskets, seals or washers around the inlet hose. We would recommend checking around this area to see if this is the case and if so, replace these parts as necessary. We hope this helps. Best Regards.

I took this machine from my girlfriend's house after she noticed water on the floor. She want a new one anyway, so i bought her one and took the old one for a rental apartment. I hooked it up at home to test it and look for a leak. When i started it, the water would flow into the tub, but would come out of the drain hose, so the tub would never fill. I ran it through the spin cycle and tried again, but the same thing happened. From your other information on your website, it looks like it might be the water valve, but is here anyway to check before buying a new part? And could it be something else entirely? I appreciate any help you can give.
For model number PAV3240AWW
Hello Mike, thank you for your question. The water inlet valve brings water into the unit. If the washer is filling and then draining at the same time it sounds like the issue is with the drain pump itself. I would recommend replacing the drain pump. I hope this helps!

Our machine will fill and run on the wash cycle and then drain. Once it gets to rinse, the machine will make a buzzing noise but will not fill with water...no water comes out. If I cycle past rinse to spin, the machine will start spinning. So basically it just isn't filling during the rinse cycle. Checking to see what part that might be before I purchase anything. I read online it could be the timer unit which I think was around $150.
For model number PAVT910AWW
Hi Matthew, Thank you for the question. If you can manually skip the cycle and the next cycle works, the timer will need to be replaced. I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued. There is no part substitutions listed. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!

When my clothes begin to rest in the barrel, it spins, water continues to shoot out after the clothes have finished spinning. They are still wet, too wet to put in the dryer. I wonder what could be the problem?
For model number NAV5805AWW
Hi Terry,
Thank you for your question. If the clothes are still soaking wet after a wash cycle has completed, it is possible that the clothes in the washer were not in balance and some water remained in the tub. You will need to check the drain hose to see if there is a blockage and to make certain it is not bent. Check the drain pump for any debris and make certain that the belt is not stretched or damaged. Also, check the direct drive motor coupling to make sure it is not damaged. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Water is still dripping into the tub while in spin cycle. Feels to be cold water. Bad fill valve?
For model number PAVT234AWW
Hi Ricky,
Thank you for your question. That would be my first thought as well. You can usually test the valve with a multi meter to check. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

my Maytag washer sometimes has a small water drip inside the tank when not in used. Then other times no drip?
thank you
For model number MAV2757AWW
Hello Frank, Thank you for your inquiry. Researching the model number that you have provided, this is usually caused by an issue with the water inlet valve, which you can test with a multimeter, on Rx1 mode, place the probes onto the valve’s terminals. The reading you should receive varies from model to model, refer to your owner’s manual for what the reading for a functioning valve should be. Good luck with your repair.
Hot water dripping very power than few months ago. I read in your web page than probably is the water valve. Do you think is that, i want make sure before but it because is not too cheap. I'm your customer, thanks for your videos
For model number CAV2004AWW
Hello Christian, Thank you for your inquiry. You can test the water inlet valve with a multimeter to see if it is causing the issue. Hope this helps!

The washer will start filling for the wash cycle, then proceed to the actual wash cycle, then to the spin cycle. Then, when it starts to fill for the rinse cycle, it trips the gfci receptacle. I have tried to run it to another outlet and does the same thing. I let it sit for 30-60 minutes with the lid open, and it will start again with no problems, as if something is getting wet that is not supposed to be. Could this be some kind of electrical issue?
For model number HAV2557AWW
Hello Michael, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom you will want to consider checking and possibly replacing either the Water Valve part PS11738838 or the Timer part PS11738818 for your model. We hope this helps.
