This part is the replacement ice chute door for your refrigerator/freezer. It is a round, black part that is approximately 2 ½ inches in diameter. The dispenser ice chute door opens to let ice through when dispensing into a glass or some other container. If the chute door is broken, your refrigerator may not be able to dispense ice properly. Be sure to disconnect the power from your refrigerator before you begin this repair. This part is sold individually and is an authentic OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Significant frost forming on ice chute.
Following diagram on website, I removed the 2 screws on the face of freezer door ice dispencer.Removed old chute door and solenoid. Replaced with new. I purchased all parts involved because they were inexpensive. The issue was most likely the solenoid. After installation ,the chute door had a sound of being positively closed by the solenoid.I\Frost no longer forming!
Water dispenser got stuck on one function, couldn't get water to work
Removed two screws and took off water dispenser front panel. Unplugged wires to old control board and removed it from brackets holding it to inside of dispenser panel. Aligned and pushed new control (with care to only touch the outside edges of board...cannot touch circuitry which will permanently damage it). Was tricky aligning the board and snapping it back on, but finally got it in place. Repositioned dispenser panel and reattached two screws. Second problem was the Chute and chute seal had broken off from the hinge chute so it wouldn't open or close when dispensing ice. Was pretty tricky to realign the chute seal to the hinge, but with some paitence and manipulation, was able to reconnect them. I am REALLY impressed with the detailed drawings I found on PartSelect.com's website. Without these drawings it would have been difficult for me (my husband and son put the parts in, I did the ordering) to know what parts to order. Service was EXCELLENT. I would definitely do business with this company again. Great work!
Ice maker door broke allowing open hole to freezer
The ice maker panel on the freezer door detaches by removing two screens at the bottom of the panel behind the drip tray. My son held the panel while I removed three screws holding the ice chute cover. The ice chute door is attached to a spring loaded bracket. I only needed the actual door, but it was just as easy to replace the insulation and the seal. The seal was starting to show wear. I then replaced the ice chute cover and tested the ice maker. With everything working correctly, I reinstalled the panel in the door.
Took the front panel off, replaced the parts inside on the door ,Replaced the panel ,Tested Now found out that it is the solniod that is bad ,Part on order ,Thanks
1 - Look at the schematic for the "Fountain" on Partselect.com 2 -Order the ice chute door and seal (seal is rubber and eventually it will stop sealing - while you are in there go ahead and change it) 3 - Unplug the refrigerator then remove the sump tray by pulling it straight out from the door 4 - Unscrew the two screws hidden behind the sump tray - hold the dispenser front housing in place so it doesn't drop downward - after removing the two screws slide the dispenser front housing downward while pressing it against the refrigerator door - there are two clips on the back of the housing that hold it against the refrigerator door 5 - Gently pull the dispenser front housing out of the refrigerator door an inch or two - you will be able to see the electrical connections between the dispenser front housing and the refrigerator. 6 - Continue pulling out the dispenser front housing until you can reach the multi-wire connector on the left - the connector is held together by a clip on the bottom center - squeeze the clip at the end closest to the wires to release it - gently pull the connector off 7 - In the center of the back of the dispenser front housing is a black plastic box (the limit switch) - again, gently pull it away from the two clips holing it on 8 - Set the dispenser front housing aside 9 - Slip the water hose out of the clips holding to to the chute 10 - Unscrew the three screws holding the chute to the door (two on the left and one on the upper right - Slide the chute out of the door 11 - Hold the door hinge so you don't accidentally break it (personal experience) and unclip the top then the bottom of the ice cube door from the hinge (the ice chute seal and ice chute door insulation are attached to the ice cube door - take all three out at the same time) 12 - Slip the ice chute seal off of the ice cube door - pull the ice chute door insulation out of the ice cube door 13 - Put the ice chute door insulation into the new ice chute door - Slip the ice chute seal onto the ice cube door (the schematic will give you the proper orientation for all of the parts) 14 - Again holding the door hinge - slip the two "L" shaped clips onto the bottom of the ice chute door - rotate the ice chute door assembly and snap (gently) the two side clips into place over the opening in the door hinge 15 - Breath a breath of relief if you didn't break anything 16 - Slide the chute assembly over the white pin on the lower right of the refrigerator opening that accepts the chute 17 - Replace the three screws that hold the chute assembly to the door - replace the water line 18 - Clip the limit switch onto the back of the dispenser front housing 19 - run the multi-wire connector behind the water line - connect it to the back of the dispenser front housing 20 - Slip the wires back into the clips along the sides of the opening in the refrigerate door 21 - Rest the dispenser front housing on the bottom of the door opening - it must fit flush to the door (top, bottom and sides) - Slide it gently upward until it stops - replace the two screws at the bottom rear of the dispenser front housing - slide the sump tray back in place 22 - Plug in the refrigerator 23 - Dispense ice cubes into a high ball glass and enjoy a job well done
I had to order three times before I got the right part. This was due to my rush to fix the problem and not studing the diagram carefully (black and white diagrams are not that clear). The repair was very simple. Just remove the rubber from the plastic door and slip on the new one.

Ice Chute door broke off and fell to the floor
Unplugged refrigerator. Removed water drip tray. Removed two Phillips screws. used putty knife to get behind outer plate and popped it off. Disconnected electrical connections. Removed the 4 nut driver screws. removed ice maker door. Removed seal around old Ice shoot flap and cleaned. Removed insulator pad from old ice maker flap and cleaned. Installed seal and insulator pad on the new chute door. clipped new chute door intact with seal and pad in place and snapped the top clips into place.
Reversed procedure to reinstall refrigerator parts.
Plugged in refrigerator and tested. Had no issues.
The ice to the door has not worked for the last 2 years. My wife complained about not having crushed ice to drink with. We looked at buying a new refrigerator. I went back online to look for the broken part again (I have looked in the past but never found the part). I stumbled on this website and found the part and it was only $4.00 and change. Only needed 10 minutes and my hands to snap the part in place. I do need a new ice bucket but it works for now and my wife is happy.

Can you direct me to one of your instructional videos on how to replace my ice chute door and seal that i just ordered from partselect . Thanks
For model number MSD2351HEQ
Hello Raymond, Thank you for your inquiry. I have found links to repair videos for similar parts, although we do not have one for this exact part number. I have also found instructions to assist you. Use a putty knife to pop the locking tabs at the bottom of the front cover (use a piece of tape on the end to avoid scratching door. Pull out the frame a little bit if you can to get the putty knife underneath. Twist it and lift up to unlock the tabs. Lift up the cover to remove it, then pull the clip of the wiring harness off. Remove the two screws on each side of the bracket underneath and lift it up out of the way-you can tape it above the bracket to hold it in place. Next, remove the ice lever by undoing the retaining 1/4 inch screw that holds the spring on the right. Pull the pin on the left side and slowly work it out, once it's out partially you can remove the black barrel at the top and get the rest of the lever out. You should now have access to the pin that you can pop off with screwdriver and pull it out-don't lose the clip. Disconnect the ribbon cable and remove the door assembly. Snap the ice door onto the white piece. Line the holes up on the mounts so you can put the pin through with the spring. Slide the pin through the holes and spring, push the clip onto the end of the rod. Put the arm back on-you may need to use the screwdriver to push the left arm enough to snap it on. Make sure it closes back on the way it's supposed to before putting the slide clip back on. Put the frame and front cover back on, plugging the wiring harness back in. Hope this helps!
