This circulation pump and motor assembly is a genuine replacement component designed for select Whirlpool dishwashers and compatible models. It plays a critical role in the cleaning process by propelling water through the spray arms, ensuring thorough and efficient washing. A malfunctioning pump may result in weak water flow, poor cleaning performance, or unusual noises during operation. Replacing this assembly restores optimal water circulation and overall dishwasher functionality. Installation requires disconnecting the appliance from power and shutting off the water supply. Basic tools may be needed, and model-specific instructions should be consulted for proper installation.

Fixed the issue
Dishwasher was going thru the paces of completed the cycle and even releasing soap but just not circulating water and blasting it thru the cleaning arms that spin. Tub filled and drained fine. Test the contact on the capacitor and the motor to find out the circulation pump motor had failed. Ordered this assembly and installed within 45min and it was back up and running and good as new. Glad this comes with the new chopper blades because an older on is prone to failing a destroying itself. You eventually get bit of food clogging your spray arm holes and it’s because dirty food water chunks is bypassing and getting stuck. Hope this review helps someone. Easy Peazy

Dishwasher fix
A cherry pit got to the chopper in the pump and destroyed the mesh screen and the friction melted the pump to the housing... The pump was on order due to the Covid slowdown in all businesses. As soon as the pump was available ParrSelect had it to me in days. Perfect fit and 4 year old Maytag is new again.

Replacement of circulator pump for a maytag dishwasher
Pull the two screws out of the counter top securing the machine in place, then pull out the dishwasher from the cavity and set it on it's face or door on a towel. Pry the clamp on the discharge hose to release/open it and pull the pump off the hanger and pull the suction line out of the well at the bottom of the machine. I reversed the process and installed the new pump sliding it on the hanger and squeezing the clamp on the discharge line. I tipped up the machine and ran it before pushing it back in the hole checking for leaks. I pushed it back in it's hole and installed the two screws above the door securing it to the counter top and I was done.

My dishwasher will fill and drain but will not spray just hums. Is this the part i need?
For model number MDB4949SDM2
Hello Mark, if you find that your dishes are not being cleaned properly, and the spray arms are not functioning, it could be multiple parts, but the most common for your model is the Turbidity Sensor, part number PS11757214. If this does not fix your issue please give us a call, and we will go over the symptoms list together. Hope this helps!

My dishwasher is not cleaning properly. It fills and drains and heats. It doesn't seem to be spraying. The motor just hums. What part will fix this problem?
For model number MDB8959FZ4
Hello Wendy, thank you for contacting us. There can be multiple solutions for not cleaning properly and the humming the sound of the motor. First, check the spray arm for blockage and also make sure the water inlet valve is working fine. If you are good there then we have three possible culprits: the impeller (part number: PS12069388), the spinner kit (part number: PS972316), and the dishwasher chopper assembly (part number: PS11722146). The humming sound of the motor is usually caused by damaged impellers of the pump. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair.
Hi, my 6 years old dishwasher doesn't clean as well since a moment. I put a cam in it to see what was going on... There is water going through the spray arms but the first turns very slowly, the second does not turn at all, and the third seems to be OK. (the manifold to the second arm is brand new). It looks like the water pressure is too low for all the arms to turn properly. Any ideas ??
For model number MDB8959SFZ4
Hello JP, thank you for contacting us. We would recommend cleaning the arms and seeing if it helps. If this does not help, the issue is most probably related to the motor pump, part number PS11723102. It delivers water to the spray arms with proper pressure to clean your dishes. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair.

HI... Our problem is that our middle sprayer arm does not spin. During a wash cycle if we open the door while it's actively washing we always find the middle sprayer arm (the one beneath the top rack) to be not spinning. I suspect the problem is that since water pressure drives the spinning, the pump must be bad. However, the dishes are not TERRIBLE, they usually come pretty clean but definitely not as clean as they used to be. My wife is pushing for a new dishwasher but this is only five years old or so. We've previously replaced both the lower and the middle arms so they are still less than two years old.
Could you advise how to confirm if the main motor pump could be a culprit? I don't want to spend $200+ and have that not be the problem.
Thank you!
Andy
For model number MDB4949SDZ0
Hi Andrew, thank you for the question. If the water pump is clogged, it will not provide enough pressure for the spray arm to spin as it should. Make sure there is no debris clogging it or restricting water from flowing through it. If this does not help, you will need to replace the circulation pump, part number PS11723102. We hope this solves your problem!

I just install the new pump and you could hear it turn on, it fills up with water but it does not spray any water. What could be the problem?
For model number MDB4949SDH2
Hello Chris, Thank you for the question. If the Circulation Pump was replaced and there is still no water circulating to the arms, we suggest checking the Float and the Float Switch. Also make sure there is no blockage in the water deliver tube and arms. We hope this helps.
It just became really noise does this part ( no.9 in diagram) would help? Do you deliver to other countries like Mexico? Or just USA ?
For model number MDB4949SDM2
Hello Lore, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number you have provided and show that this is one of the parts that can fix your issue. We also recommend checking the drain pump, the door balance kit, and the door springs. PartSelect will ship your parts to any physical address within the United States, except Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or United States offshore territories, including APO/FPO US military bases. My dishwasher will fill and drain but will not spray water on any setting.
For model number MDB8989SHZ0
Hello Rusty, Thank you for the question. This could be an indication the Circulation Pump is not circulating the water to the arms to have them spin and wash the dishes. The Circulation Pump may need to be replaced. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hi there - A year ago or so my washer started making a horrible noise and not cleaning well. I pulled it apart and found a destroyed chopper, plus some debris clogging the end holes in the spray arms. I cleaned as best i could (real pain clearing the debris) and replaced the chopper. All good until recently it got noisy again, though not as bad and not cleaning as well. I see what looks to be the entire impeller and chopper assembly ~$180. Think that would be the best item to replace this time? Also, do you have spray arms that can be opened up and cleaned of debris?
For model number MDB4949SDM0
Hello Bart, thank you for your question. The spray arms do not open up. On the schematic, item 9 contains the entire impeller ands chopper assembly PS11723102. We hope this helps.
