This is the clutch • for various models of screw guns and drywall screwdrivers. Screw guns, not to be confused with power drills, feature a nose instead of a chuck and the clutch within is responsible for engaging or disengaging the motor of the screw gun to stop it from overdriving the screw. This OEM clutch is made of durable metal, has a 1-inch diameter and includes only a single retaining ring. The clutch within a screw gun can be damaged by simple fall damage, overdriving screws, or using the screw gun to drive nails or bolts, all of which will require replacing the clutch. Depending on your model, there may be multiple clutches within the tool assembly, so make sure to check any applicable diagrams before ordering. • Replacing the clutch only requires a pick, screwdriver, and wrench, but first requires you to disconnect your screw gun from power or disconnect its battery.
