The switch was bad
I popped off the old switch plug in the new switch with the wires put it back together and it worked like a charm

With the off and on switch with 4 connectors and 4 wires go on the back of that switch so looking at the switch from the back wiring goes how 2 black wires on right 2 connectors 1on top and other black wire is on right on bottom connector then 2 white wires would be on left or a wiring gram will show how they are connected
