WRF555SDFZ Whirlpool Refrigerator - Instructions

Pressed in the end of the filter cover, lowered it down part way. Twisted the old filter 1/4 turn and removed it. Set in the sink to drain. Inserted new filter and twisted it to lock. closed cover. Done. Total time @ 1 Minute.

I removed the drop-down outer housing by gently prying the sides of the two pivot pins at the rear. This gave me move 'room' to grip and slightly rotate then pull the old filter forward and away from the tight suction connection. I was concerned that I would be too forceful for the plastic assemblies and would break something; deliberate motions and a steady thought process on the problem helped disengage the darned old filter!

The switch-out of the water filter was simple with good instructions on the box.
The part was delivered very, very quickly!

I unscrewed the old one and replaced it with the new one. The real benefit was I got the exact part I needed w/o a 30 minute drive and sales people that ignored me. I had gone to the local store the day before and come home with the wrong part because i could not get assistance and the part # I had did not match what was labled on the package. I used the same part # on the website and got exactly what was needed, less that 48 hrs after I ordered it. thanks for the prompt service. we will be a repeat customer

I called the repairman and he troubleshot the problem and told me that he could order the part or that I could. He quickly explained what to do. I ordered the part it came in with 2 days during that time I looked up on how to remove and replace the part on the website. The website stated it took around 15 minutes. That is all it took. I had to use a screw driver to remove two screws and seperate the connection. I reconnected the wiring per instructions on the website reversed the process and it was done within 15 minutes. I save a lot of money and time away from work. This is a grest site to get what you need to fix your appliances. Please note I had to remove the complete old wire harness from and install the new proper one as my part number was replaced with a new part number. The new ice maker repair kit comes with 2 new harnesses each slightly different one for a 22 cubic foot model the other for the 25cf model. It looks intimidating initially, just take pictures FIRST BEFORE removing old harness to see all the connections. I was surprised this was necessary but it is, as the 'H" pin on the front of the new ice maker motor was different from my old one. Would have only taken me 15 minutes or so to replace the old ice maker but with having to remove the old harness and re-route the new harness it will take you a bit of time and patience but you can do it. Another note you will have to remove the Electromagnet to get to the green grounding screw on the ice maker itself. There are good videos on Part Select and youtube showing how to remove the ice maker itself, but did not find one on the wire harness, like I said just take lots of good pictures showing all the connection points on the old harness and take your time. It was not too hard. And now I have ice again!

Unplugged and empty refrigerator, completely defrosted refrigerator using a hair dryer to speed up the defrosting, put a lot of towels on the floor to soak up the water when the ice melts. Removed all refrigerator racks and drawers, then remove the white plastic and styrofoam condenser cover. You will then see the thermistor, cut the two small wires connecting the thermistor to the harness leave yourself as mush wire as possible. Splice in the new thermistor and put the refrigerator back together.

There is a Philips head screw that holds the light cover on. Remove it. Pull the cover off from the back. It is rather tight so you need to pull fairly hard. Two tabs on the left side of the light hold the assembly in place. Release them and drop the module down. Unplug and do the reverse to put it back together.

The manual says to unplug.the refrigerator. Power to the light can be turned off by taping the door switch down.

Turned old one until it snapped out. Replaced it with a turn.

Unsnap damper louver cover using only your fingernails at bottom. Remove two phillips screws from damper cover. Remove styrofoam molded insulation. Squeeze electrical connector to release latch; unplug connector. Release latches on both sides of damper control while gently pulling on damper control unit to remove it. Install new unit by doing above steps in reverse. Damper door may move when electrics connected; keep fingers clear.
Amana would not honor our extended warranty that we paid $65 for, saying that noises are not covered. Im glad that Partselect supplied the part quick and and a great price. The frig is quiet for the first time in 2 years!

Remove cover inside frig at rearwall top with screw driver. Remove phillips screws holding unit in place. Unclip connectors ,and replace in reverse order.

Inside the food section above the top shelf behind the light in the back, remove the lid from the cover in lifting from the lower edge no tools necessary here. Remove two screws with Phillips screw driver remove entire housing inclusive Styrofoam insert. Unplug damper Control Unit. Remove two screws and remove damper control unit and replace in reverse order. Finally that refrigerator is quiet, I should have done this long time ago. Unbelievable this is the second part I have to replace on this expensive refrigerator.

I unboxed the replacement gasket set and inspected them for damage. Then I opened the left refrigerator door and grabbed the right hand corner of the old gasket and removed it. I then aligned the new gasket with the door and using my fingers pushed the gasket into the gasket grove. I used my thumb to seat the gasket. I repeated the process for the right door. Total time was under 15 minutes.

Turned the old one to unseat and replaced with a new one in the reverse order.
