LG front load washer, small project to replace bearings. It is turning into more than small at this point. I'm needing to replace the spider, on the drum, and started to remove the bolts and only had all but two come out. I was going to remove the lift assembly to see if a nut was turning. I was able to remove the cover with the rollers but not the base as i can't get it to slide to the opening. Is there something else i need to do?
For model number WM2455HW
Hello and thank you for writing.
Spray the spider shaft with penetrating oil. Using a brass drift try to drive spider shaft out, then try using a heavy metal punch to hammer out the bolts. For those who may not know using brass or a soft metal will keep from damaging the parts. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

Why does the door lock keep unlocking or turning off and then stopping the cycle it is on? It turns the door lock off during load sensing, wash cycle, rinse cycle and spin cycle. The machine will not go through any complete cycles without turning off.
For model number WM2455HW
Hello Rebecca, thank you for your question. It sounds like the door lock is the issue. The door lock should lock the door and remain locked during the whole cycle. We would recommend replacing the door lock PartSelect Number: PS3533609. I hope this helps.
It's blinking the letters UE why?? And what does that mean??
For model number WM2455HW
Hey Daen, thank you for your question. We have researched your model and found that error code UE means your washing machine's control board has determined that the load in your washer isn't balanced. To fix this error, try to balance the load, check the washer legs, reset the washer, check the rotor mounting nut, check the suspension rods, check the shock absorbers, and check the hall sensor. If these steps do not fix the issue, then you may need to replace the control board. We hope this helps!

My washer started smelling of burning rubber during the spin cycle of a heavy load. It was also making a lot of noise, like the load was unbalanced. I noticed the noise, but subconsciously tuned it out. Then I smelled burning rubber. After realizing it was coming from the washing machine, I opened the door to find a thin ring of the door boot in the drum. So I imagine I need to replace the door boot. But what caused this, and what else should I look for to replace? Something must have allowed the drum to rotate off center and rub against the door boot and melt it. Thanks
For model number WM2455HW
Hi Joe, thank you for reaching out. The door boot seal for your model is part number PS3524977. We would suggest checking the ball bearing, part number PS3522899, as well. We hope this sorts out your problem!
Removed the top of the washer by removing the 4 back screws and 2 small brackets. Then I removed the front panel, this was actually the hardest part, 2 screws and 8 tabs that you pop out carefully from the top of the panel. I only disconnected the power button and was able to rest the panel on top of the washer. The rest of the washer came apart quickly just moving down the front of the washer and removing the door, latch, tub gasket, drain cover. Removing the pump was just a mater of disconnecting the drain hoses, and one clip under the drain assembly. 3 screws attach the drain to assembly to the pump and only 2 wires that are clearly marked. Reassembly is just going back through in reverse order of disassenbly. The best thing about this is that it all comes apart with a standard phillips screwdriver.
I first tested the motor per the service manual. I checked the resistance between the terminals of the 3 pin connector. It's supposed to be 5-15 ohms. The motor checked out so I replaced the main electrical board. It turns out that wasn't the problem. After a brief web search I found out that the hall sensor (which is attached to the motor stator) was the likely cause of the failure. I replaced that and everything works great now. And now I have a spare main board in case that ever fails. I also want to mention that I took the time to remove the dispenser box (where the water comes in and is directed to the different cleaning products) and cleaned it with a very strong bleach solution. It got rid of the mildew and funky smell. It seems that the fabric softener caused a lot of mildew to form inside the dispenser directly above the fabric softener tray. The bleach took care of that. This is probably something that should be done routinely to keep the mildew from forming.
