My dryer will not get hot where can I find out where this part is and what parts do I need please help me
For model number WED9050XW1
Hello Evie, thank you for your inquiry. According to our understanding, we would recommend checking the thermal fuse for any fault. If it is fine, then the issue is most probably with the dryer thermistor, part number PS11746740. It attaches on the blower housing, and monitors and helps regulate the temperature inside the dryer. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!
My dryer operates but does not produce any heat. What should I check?
For model number WED9050XW1
Hi Jesse,
Thank you for your question. If the dryer is not heating, we recommend checking the thermal fuse and the heating element. Before checking these parts for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting, unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet. For the thermal fuse, you should receive a reading of zero or infinity. If you receive any other reading, you will need to replace the thermal fuse. For the heating element, if you receive a reading of infinity, you will need a replacement heating element. We hope this helps!
My heating element stopped working, the coil was broken. I replaced the element and the other two things, now the dryer gets very hot on high and on normal, could I have messed up the wiring and how do I check if I did?
For model number WED9050XW1
Hello Brian, thank you for contacting us. As the heating element is getting extra hot, that means the element is working and the problem is not with the wiring. We would recommend checking the thermistor, part number PS11746740, to solve the problem. It prevents the dryer from overheating by monitoring and controlling the temperature of the inside of the dryer drum. We hope this helps!
I have a dryer that wasn't blowing hot air i change the heating element the two sensors and fuse and got it to work for a day and it stopped blowing hot air again i don't know what to do now
For model number WED9050XW1
Hello Marco, Thank you for your inquiry. You mentioned that you have changed the element, sensors and fuse. We also can recommend checking the high limit thermostat, the high limit thermostat and thermal cut off kit, and the internal bias or cycling thermostat. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. You may also want to check the white dryer thermal fuse on the blower housing again to see if it has blown. Fuses can often blow due to a clogged dryer vent, so we recommend checking for any excess lint in the dryer and for any blockage or restrictions to the exhaust vent. If you are seeing excess lint in the dryer, you should also check the lint chute seal, the blower housing seal, the front panel seal and the drum seal for any damage or leaks. Hope this helps.
First I unplugged the dryer, then removed the back panel, this exposed most all of the wiring and I could see the heater coils. Not knowing what the problem was I started looking at the coils and could not see any broken parts. So then checked the thermal fuse for continuity I removed the two wires from it with a small pair of needle nose pliers, it was held in place by two screws, once they were removed the fuse came out easily, I checked continuity with a volt meter placing the meter on X1 Ohms and could not get a reading. I replaced with a new one and put it all back together the way I took it apart. Then I plugged it in and it worked first time, I now have warm dry clothes.
Cleaning the lint out of the whole machine took quite a bit of time--it was everywhere. Underneath the lint trap was a collection that ultimately ruined the thermal fuse where it restricted the air flow considerably.
Ascertaining the problem was the most time consuming part.
The actual repair was quite simple and didn't take but 15-20 minutes.
Received your parts, Popped them both right into place, Even though only one side needed to be replaced, I wanted them to match up. It was amazing how easy this was. My husband was quite impressed I had ordered these rather then look for either a new or used dryer from some other source.
