My washer turns on by itself and tries to drain. If left plugged in it tries to drain for 5 minutes, shuts off for 5 minutes and then tries to drain for 5 minutes. This continues until unplugged. It also says code F3E2.

Hi Paula, thank you for reaching out. The F2E2 error code on your Maytag washer means there is a communication error between the main control board and the user interface control board. We suggest that you check the main control board, part number PS16555299, and the user interface control board, part number PS16221057. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!

Scratches in Surface
This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.

Noise, grinding sounds. Wash tub stopped turning but motor and cycles kept functioning. Process of elimination, must be the clutch assembly.
Easy, just followed the repair video. Recommend also ordering the drive belt. Bought one locally during my repair.

Tab on door strike got broken off and washer would not operate without it.
Pushed in on door strike and rotated it counterclockwise, removed broken strike and installed new strike. NOTE: when removing the old strike (turning counterclockwise) it felt like it might break and/or was attached with an screw that I didn't see but it came right out.
