Timer will not advance dryer does heat
For model number MGDX655DW2
Hello Robert, thank you for your question. There are a few parts we would recommend testing. We would recommend checking to be sure the igniter is lighting the gas when the dryer is started. If the gas is not lighting, we would recommend testing the flame sensor, igniter, gas coils, and gas valve. If those parts are fine, we would recommend testing the thermostats in the unit, which are Internal-Bias Thermostat PartSelect Number: PS11745959 and Thermal Cut-Off Fuse Kit PartSelect Number: PS12070444. If those parts are ok, the timer should be replaced. I hope this helps.
Dryer heats but does not turn off. Timer does not advance no matter what settings is being used: timer dry or moister sensor dry

My gas dryer shuts off after 3-5 minutes after starting the dryer. After removing the back of the dryer, there is no lint anywhere inside and the exhaust is clean and only 12” thru wall. Is it a thermal heat sensor or something else? Thanks

Timer on my Bravos MCT dryer doesn’t count down on any of the settings. It heats up fine. Is there a way to check the timer or could something else be the cause?
For model number MGDX655DW2
Hello Brian, thank you for contacting us. We have found instructions for the testing of the timer. These instructions may not be of the exact model but will help you. First set the ohmmeter to the Rx1 setting. Put one probe of the ohmmeter on the common ground terminal, and the other one on the other terminals one by one. A normal reading for most timers is in the 2000 to 3000 ohms range. If the reading you receive from testing your timer differs greatly from the range presented here, then you may need to replace the timer, part number PS11756913, to fix the issue. We hope this information helps!
Pryed dryer top open and opened front door. . Unscrewed the 2 retaining screws. Pulled old switch from the wiring harness. Put new switch in place and replaced the retaining screws. Put new switch wire plug into the wiring harness. Before closing top, checked door switch function with dryer on. Dryer cut off when door open and when closed dryer started normally. . . Maint. Note instruction book should warn that letting door slam, which I did on occaision, broke the switch arm. Might save future problems.
It was simple once I figured out what to do:). I removed the 2 screws on the top of the dryer... they were a bit hard to find. Even with the other descriptions on this site. I was removing things I didn't need to. The 2 screws you need to remove are under the LINT COLLECTOR LID. Remove those 2 screws & lift the lid... it will be tight at first. the front of the lid has 2 "catches" in the corners.
The hardest part was getting the door switch assembly to "unplug". We pried it off -- eventually -- & then simply plugged in the new one.
Saved me LOTS of money & was worth the 30 minutes - 1 hour of work.
As I said previously, once you realize how to get the lid up & manage to pry off the plug, that's all there is to it -- easy!
