My ice maker wont produce ice

Hello Cathy, thank you for the great question. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend that you check the water pressure from the supply and the temperature setting for the freezer. The water inlet valve supplies water to the ice and water dispensers. The water inlet valve requires a minimum of 20 psi to function properly. Check the water flow and test the pressure to determine if it is at least 20 psi. The recommended temperature for the freezer compartment for normal ice production is 0°F (-18 °C). If the freezer temperature is higher, ice production will be affected. The next thing to check is the water inlet valve. If the water inlet valve is defective or has insufficient pressure, it won’t allow water to flow through. As a result, the ice maker won’t make ice, and you need to replace the water inlet valve, part number PS10066440. Also check the water filter, part number PS12724834. If these do not fix the issue, replace the ice maker assembly, part number PS3617221. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Ice chute would not open.
Removed ice dispenser and display with small screwdriver from front of the fridge. Pried out the whole piece slowly. This exposed the motor that activates the chute. Plugged in the new motor before any removal to verify the motor was the problem. When it worked, removed old and installed new. 3 screws. Piece of cake.

I was constantly running out of room and saw all this space on the door.
I re-arranged all my condiments on the door shelves and used the space more wisely and was able to place about 10 more jars etc. into the door space which gave me more room for other items. Very smart move. Can't believe I did not do this years ago.
