KitchenAid side by side refrigerator ice maker not working. Ice maker replaced, filter changed recently and every 6-mos, door water dispenser works perfectly as does the door display. Found old ice maker ice tray empty (no water or ice) and shutoff arm locked in the up position. New ice maker shutoff arm also in up position. Tried the reset several times with no results. After reset, there is a slight hum and ice maker auger cycles. Could the water fill valve be the problem, and if so what is the part #?

Hi Don, thank you for the question. When the ice maker is connected to electric power, but not to the water supply line, it makes a loud humming or ticking noise. This noise is easy to eliminate; ensure the water line that feeds the ice maker is connected correctly and the water supply valve is fully open. Check the connections and the supply valve if you are unsure. If it does not help, you will need to replace the water inlet valve, part number PS11750831. Please reach out to customer service if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of help!

Ice maker makes ice but will not drop into glass when pushing paddle. Auger motor does not run
For model number KRSF505ESS00
Hello Michael, thank you for contacting us. The auger motor, part number PS12349163, is responsible for rotating the auger that pushes the ice cubes through the dispenser chute. When the auger motor is defective the ice maker will not dispense ice. Hence the most probable cause of your problem is a defective auger motor. If you would like assistance placing an order, please contact customer service. Good luck with your repair!
I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.
An easy job for smaller hands. Removed the two bolts holding the light cover. Removed two electrical connections from the old switch by pinching the retaining clip, removed the switch, snapped in the new one and re-attached the connectors. Your online illustrations helped me to know that the plastic housing for the light switch would only swing down so far and was not intended to be removed. Saved me from breaking that plastic cover's tabs. This home repair saved me more than 5 times the cost of hiring a professional to do it. Very happy homeowner.
