electrical short from oven light.

I trouble shot and traced out to electrical short in face panel and found burnt wires. I've been a licensed electrician for years and it takes alot of comon sense to trouble shoot and find problem. I found schetch-matic of appliance and searched computor and found partselect.com and tried it. It wasnt no time and the part was at my door. Over heating element.

Just turn off power , remover screws. Remove and plug in new part.

surface element not working

Ordered new element from PartSelect. It arrived shortly. It did not match the original. Guy at appliance store explained how I could connect the wires on the new one. It still did not fix the problem. A repair man tried for 2.5 hours to fix it with no success. Now I will return the replacement element in the return envelope provided.

bake element out

use needle nose pliers to disconnect the element from the power supply. After disconnecting it was easy to repair.

Broken "warmer" switch/lamp

1) Remove power from range. 2) Carefully unsnap and pull out the old switch. 3) Remove wires using pliers. 4) Attach wires to new switch. 5) Snap in new switch.

Glass Door Broken

Removed 3 screws holding the glass door bracket.
Placed glass into door holders, had another person hold glass while I replaced the removable bracket screws.

The side trim on the glass door needed to be replaced.

After we put the latch pins in, the door was easily lifted off. We placed the door on the table and unscrewed the trim pieces. The new trim pieces went into place after we cleaned the door. We slipped the door back on the oven and removed the hinge pins.

Oven temperature was 50 degrees off

Unplugged stove.
Pulled stove out.
Unscrewed screws and removed cover.
Removed & replaced sensor.
Reinstalled cover & screws.
Plugged in stove and pushed back in.
Only problem was when I pulled stove out, lid opened and disconnected the gas line to a burner.

burned oven bulb

The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new light bulb in was not the problem.

Inside Light would not work

Turned off CB for the oven,Remove the oven from the cabinet , remove the back of the oven, replaced the light Assembly. turned on CB for the oven, tested the light. and truned off the CB and replace the back and reinstalled the oven in the cabinet.
