The control panel went dead while using the oven. The thermal fuse tested bad so I replaced it. Now the control panel works but the heating element will not heat at all. Tested the continuity in the heating element and it measures 13.8 ohms so it seems to be ok. Could it be the terminal block?
For model number KEBS179BSS00
Hello Kenneth, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, the issue is probably with the terminal block, part number PS11750972. If this does not solve your problem, a functioning element will have a reading between 19 and 115 ohms. If your element does not have continuity or is visually damaged, you may need to replace the bake element, part number PS16555332, or the broil element, part number PS11722938. We hope this is helpful!
USE 2 PEOPLE FOR SAFETY! SWITCH OFF OVEN POWER BREAKER!! Remove screws attaching oven to wall opening, slide out entire oven just far enough to get to 2 screws on either side of controls, remove those screws (may need stubby screwdriver), lift control front, opens forward, have 2nd person hold control panel cover while removing centered thermal fuse (plugs on both ends, may need needle-nose pliers to grip plug on fuse.) Remove old fuse, plug in new one. Close control panel, replace side screws, TEST POWER BEFORE pushing oven back into wall, replace wall-holding screws. Less than 30 minutes. EXTRA PERSON MAKES EASY!
Not a repair. Just needed to replace the meat probe sensor for the programmable oven. Quick and easy purchase and very fast delivery took care of the problem. I was back in business.
