Where is the light located on the top section of the freezer side (where ice maker is located). All other lights work but I cannot find where this bulb is.
For model number GZS22IYNBHFS
Hi Judith,
Thank you for your question. According to your owner's manual, the freezer light is located in the back of the freezer section, behind a light shield. Before beginning this repair, unplug the refrigerator.
Remove the shelf above light shield. To remove the light shield, press in on the sides, and
lift up and out. Replace the bulb with an appliance bulb of the same or lower wattage, and reinstall the light shield. When reinstalling the light shield, make sure the top tabs snap securely into place. Replace the screw. Reinstall the shelf and plug the refrigerator back in. We hope this helps with the repair!

The water dispenser and ice maker stopped working. Periodically the inlet hose moves around and the fridge makes a bunch of noise.
I'm thinking there's a water pump inside the freezer that may need replacing? Have you run into this before? Thanks so much!
For model number GZS22IYNBHFS
Hi Sharyn, thank you for reaching out. There is no water pump inside the freezer. The issue could be with the water inlet valve, part number PS12727426. It is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the water dispenser and ice maker. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!

Where can I purchase the freezer backlight bulb, the one in the back of the freezer with the shield that's hard to remove? I damaged the fridge while trying to remove the light shield.
For model number GZS22IYNBHFS
Hello Michel, thank you for reaching out. The LED light assembly you are looking for is part number PS11767930. To remove the light assembly, first disconnect the cover by pulling it down from the back. Disconnect the wire going to the light assembly. Then press the tab to remove the light board. To install the new assembly, position it over the post and snap it into place. Connect the wire connector and replace the cover. We hope this helps.
After replacing the defrost heater, main board and thermistor I still had the same problem. Called a repair guy and he (with the help of GE on the phone) diagnosed that the temperature sensor was bad. So I ordered from partselect and installed it and it fixed the problem. Been good for a couple months (knocking on wood). To install I had to cut the 2 wires to the old sensor, crimp the 2 new wires on and snap the new sensor to the clip on the evaporator. Very easy. Make sure you seal the ends of the wire crimps so moisture doesn't get in and corrode the connection.
I went to a GE repair center to explain my problem, the service center reccomended that I have a techinician come out o look at it. $75.00 for the visit and what ever labor and materials wuld cost.
I went on line to see if there were others having this same problem and found that there were many with the same problem.
After reading some of the ways that people found out what was wrong ...it became a matter of three components, the timer, heater or thermostat.
I tried the most common component and the less expensive one first , the thermostat switch I installed it very easily snipping two wires and attaching the news using wire nuts I used the diagram on this website to pinpoint the component and there has not been a problem since.
I removed two srews from the back panel inside fthe reezer compartment and the two that hold the air manifold/baffle? and pulled the baffle out. Then, I removed the two srews that hold the front part of the fan bracket behind the baffle and the back panel came out easily. Two more screws and one quick connect plug attached to the fan and I was done with removal. Insallation was even quicker, I slid the original fan right off the old motor and slid it on the new motor's shaft. Piece of cake! Thanks Partselect.
