GDF540HGD2BB General Electric Dishwasher - Instructions

Popped the old one off. Popped the new one on. Easy as that.

I took out the old one and simply inserted the replacement. It was an exact replacement part and thus a perfect fit. Dishwasher is working fine now! Cost was around $40 (shipped) which I thought was reasonable.

Unscrew the upper and side holding screws. Move dishwasher part way out. I didn't need to disconnect the water or electric. Make sure the electricity is off. Remember your working around water. Take off the bottom plat removing two screws, Remove broken cable pulley and replace new. Buy two since your their you might want to replace both. Have fun! It's duck soup.

It took longer to uninstall and reinstall the dishwasher than it did to change out the part

Removed two latch screws and one electrical connection, Removed
two screws that hold D/W to countertop, pulled D/W out enough to remove the old latch, install new latch, push D/W back into place, rescrew to counter top and rescrew the two latch screws. This problem happened since new, had repairmen twice and they did nothing but move the dishwasher stating it needed alignment, never mentioned this easy repair....

Simply unscrewed the old damaged arm and screwed the new one on, took less than a minute

Tub gasket was a piece of cake, remove/replace by push in. Bottom door gasket was PIA. First you need to remove the door. Then, since the old gasket is held in place with a plate that is riveted together, you must drill out the rivets. Then you can install the new gasket. But first, you must use tap to replace rivet with threaded screw - unless you can find teeny tiny rivets!

Very straight forward. After removing the power source the dishwasher was pulled forward enough to access the the door hinge springs. Then the door could be removed and the inner skin separated to access the the dispenser mounting screws.

Looked up the replacement part on YouTube, watched a video and followed the instructions. Part ordered was the correct part and the video showed how to access for replacing. Watched a different video for hooking up the disconnected springs that allow the door to lower and close smoothly. Whole process for repairs was less than 30 minutes.

So after noticing some horrid food waste build up in my 9 year old dishwasher, I determined it wasn't heating the water during the wash cycle. I came on here to check how to replace the heating element and was surprised when the flood switch was instead strongly recommended as the first repair step.

I ordered the part, and prepped the dishwasher for the repair (Pro-tip: Clothes pin attached to the bottom of the flood switch wiring harness ensures it doesn't slip down below the opening during the part swap!). The part swap and reassembly only took 5-10 mins or so after prep and dishwasher is now heating water and running great again. Open box...remove old rack from dishwasher...roll in NEW rack. Done!!!

Super easy repair, just removed the old latch and replaced it with the new one.

The Mid Spray Arm Assembly was not spinning due to a dish that was in placed the dishwasher that was too high and hitting the arm. When it spun until it broke the center shaft. Replacement was easy. After removing power I pulled the upper tray out and removed the Conduit Mid Tiered Assembly by unsnapping it from the tray. I twisted off the broken spindle of the damaged arm assembly from the Conduit Mid Tiered Assembly and inserted the new arm and gently pushed it until it snapped into the Mid Tiered Assembly. Reinstalled the assembled parts by snapping into the tray making sure it was centered.

Upper rack I had to reuse the old power was assembly but it just snaps into place. Lower rack literally just place on roller track and it was done. No tools required. Extremely satisfied with my purchase. 10/10 recommend!!
