What do i have to takeoff to access the fuse? It's not simply a grill on the front of it and it is hung underneath the counter
For model number FPBM3077RFB
Hi Walt,
Thank you for your question. To access the fuse, you will need to unplug the microwave from the electrical outlet and then remove it from under the cabinet. Once you have completed that, remove the outer frame from the microwave. Before removing or touching the fuse or any other part inside the microwave, you will need to discharge the high voltage capacitor as it will still carry a charge even though the microwave has been unplugged. Here is a link from our website that you may reference on how to discharge the capacitor, https://www.partselect.com/Microwave+discharge-capacitor+repair.htm. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.
The microwave appears to be dead in every way with one exception. The clock flashes 12:00 about every 3 seconds. It flashes dimly for only an instant .There are no other signs of life. The keypad does not work, no fan, no light inside or countertop, no beeping, no response of any kind. I assume the fuse is intact since the clock flashes, albeit dimly and momentarily. I unplugged it for 30 minutes but no change. How should I Proceed? Thank you.

Hi David, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, the first thing you need to do is check the continuity of the fuse, part number PS12071294. If your fuse is faulty, replace it. If this is not the case, replacing the control panel, part number PS10066267, will solve the issue. We hope this information helps!
Hello Tom and thank you for writing.
It is located on the front right corner of the unit under the outer shell of the microwave as you're looking at the unit. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

Everything of the left side of the control panel has stopped working. No cooktop light, fan, user pref, or anything else on that side of the panel.

Hi Bruce, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest you check the control board, part number PS11731941, as it is the most likely cause of this issue. If it is faulty, you may need to replace it. We hope this solves your problem!
Remove vent cover then remove touch screen control panel. When you remove control panel take photo of where everything is plugged in then unplug and remove control panel. 3 door switches located next to door in a plastic chassis. Test each switch with current tester. Remove the bad switch and replace with the new one. You tube DIY helped.
First thing I dir was search YouTube for any related videos and found this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHj4H9Fdxrc, it was the exact problem my microwave was exhibiting. Once I verified the problem by troubleshooting, I removed the part and verified that the switches were working fine, the door latch assembly showed signs of wear which was the cause of the problem. After receiving the replacement part I installed it, verified that power was restored to the unit and reassembled the microwave, works fine, hope it lasts a long time!
Went through some anxious hours when I found that the MW would not turn off. The only way was to leave the door open. Not a solution. Tried a appliance repair that I knew, they didn't work on MWs. Spoke to the manufacturer, for $99 would come out and then tell me the real cost to fix. After more searching, even to maybe getting a new MW, (which necessitates getting a new bracket for the over the stove MW. They evidently are not standard, but proprietary to brands. Not good!)Buying a MW, okay, but someone has to put it in. Where are the good old days of selling, delivery, service? I'm from a small town, that's SOP. I found PartSelect and called them. They didn't have the exact problem I had. They had a FAQ about the MW not starting. Mine wouldn't stop. After describing what was happening, they had it in one. Looked at the plastic latch, bottom was curved out of shape. Door wouldn't close properly, causing it to run. It didn't heat, just ran. I ordered the parts. A spring and a latch. They came in quickly and my son and I began the repair. Found a You Tube on a similar type of door and they posited it might be the latch with step by step to follow. Ran back and forth from computer to kitchen. Now, we didn't have the right tools to go along with the video we were watching. A long thin blade (about 12 inches) knife was used as the putty knife to pry up the edging that held the door glass. My son's long thin tiny philips screwdriver he uses to fix toys worked for the really tiny screws that held the latch part. We didn't have long nose pliers, but we messed up that part anyway, forgot to put in the new spring with the new latch. We worked it by hand and it went back together. Put it all together and discovered we forgot to put those tiny screws back at the latch. Wrestled the door back on and started it. Almost had a heart attack as it still was running when off. So unplugged, let it reset and it's been fine. Think it probably would have gone smoother with the proper tools. Anyway, glad I found PartSelect and that it was a relatively easy fix, even for those without tools and experience. A am a retiree, so don't feel you can't do it. Thank you so much PartSelect.
