I have a Frigidaire microwave fgmv176nt that recurrently blows the fuse (not constantly). I have checked the hv transformer, the hv capacitor, the diode, and the magnetron and they all check good. The vent motor checks good. The only thing i have found out of kilter is the bottom door switch changes resistance 1 3 ohms when the button is pushed a little (without going all the way to the click). Any ideas?

Hello Ras,
Thank you for writing. From everything you have described, it looks like you have gone through most of the steps we would recommend to find your issue. One suggestion would be to try and replace your door switch and if you still have symptoms after that, you may need to contact a technician. The part number for the replacement door switch is PS12071302. We hope this helps you.
Hi James. Your microwave door may get stuck closed if there is an issue with the door latch lever or button. The lever assembly typically has a paddle or a button that comes in contact with the door latch assembly to release the hooks, which allows you to open the door.
How to inspect a microwave door latch lever or button:
1. To ensure your safety, unplug the appliance before beginning.
2. Remove the control panel and button cover in order to access the door latch lever.
3. Once you have access to it, visually inspect the lever for damage, wear, or seized components.
4. If you find any issues during your inspection, you will need a replacement door latch lever.
. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
Remove vent cover then remove touch screen control panel. When you remove control panel take photo of where everything is plugged in then unplug and remove control panel. 3 door switches located next to door in a plastic chassis. Test each switch with current tester. Remove the bad switch and replace with the new one. You tube DIY helped.
First thing I dir was search YouTube for any related videos and found this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHj4H9Fdxrc, it was the exact problem my microwave was exhibiting. Once I verified the problem by troubleshooting, I removed the part and verified that the switches were working fine, the door latch assembly showed signs of wear which was the cause of the problem. After receiving the replacement part I installed it, verified that power was restored to the unit and reassembled the microwave, works fine, hope it lasts a long time!
