What would cause the compressor to keep running.

Hello James, thank you for your inquiry. According to our understanding, the issue is most probably with the control board, part number PS16876251. Hello, I'm needing to know why my freezers green light is flashing

Hello Crystal, thank you for your inquiry. The green LED Power On light indicates that the appliance is properly connected to electrical power. The light glows even when the temperature control is turned OFF. This light also flashes continuously when the appliance is first plugged in until the unit reaches the selected temperature. Check to make sure no items are blocking the vent. If you have recently added a lot of items, then leave the door closed as much as you can so that it will reach the set temperature. If this is not the issue, then you may need to check the door gasket, part number PS16218638, to fix the issue. It creates a seal around the door to prevent warm air from entering the freezer. We hope this helps
so not to disrupt items on the shelves we purchased an extra shelf so we could flash freeze items on a baking sheet after they are frozen then placed in a seal meal bags the items won't stick together the extra shelf allows you about 3 inches of space for a backing sheet
