FFSS2615TP0 Frigidaire Refrigerator - Instructions

I shut off the water supply and removed the 4 screws from the cardboard back revealing the water valve. I removed the 2 screws which attach the valve to the refrigerator and removed the water valve. Once out it was a snap to unplug the electrical leads and unscrewed the water lines, Insalling the new part was a matter of reversing the above procedure. Everything is color coded which made this replacement extrememly simple.

- Unsnapped old light socket from top of Frig
- Disconnected elect wires
- Reconnected elect wires to new light socket
- Snapped new socket in place
- Done in less than 2 min.

I took a utility knife and picked the corner and pulled off old label. Used Rubbing Alchol to removed the left on glue and remeved any finger oils.Peeled off backing and centered label and rubbed on with a dry clean towel. It was a snap to install. I would recomend PartSelect to any one who needs parts to do any type of repair to their apliance.

Most of the time was spent removing frozen food and removing the plastic clip holding one of the shelves in place. Removal of bottom panel took less than a minute. Thermostat easy to find, clipped wires a the unit and removed unit. Used included wire jackets, but not white shrink wrap. This did NOT fix the problem. This was the attempt at a 'cheap' fix. My refrigerator required the 'control box' to be replaced.

1.Got on line to Partselect ordered the parts we needed .they arrived Quickly and in good condition 2.Except the tray was sent in error delaying the repair. 3.contacted Partselect costumer services for assistance 4.Followed their direction and reorder the correct one hoping the correct one would arrive .it did the next day .5.On to repair, removed broken stud with panel stud puller with the aide of a putty knife to spread the pressure of tool stud came out 6.reinserted new stud 7.replaced the new upper crisper drawer cover glass not included . 8.Upper Crisper pan to complete the repair. 9.all in all successful with the help of Partselect superior parts and helpful guides.

Simply slid glass into frame & it fit perfectly.

The shelving brackets are install much like a blind rivet. I simply used a punch and gently pushed in the plastic center pin / mandrel. I then used a butter knife as a wedge to pull out the shelving supports enough to grab them with a pair of pliers. Simple to do!

The 4 lines attached to water valve have compression fittings.New valve has pex fittings.I cut each line just behind the ferrel and inserted each line into the proper fitting and reattached the 3 electrical plugs.Turned water back on.I immediately got water from thr door without dripping.For whatever reason it was not making ice for the first 3 days,I pulled the plug on the icemaker solenoid and reattached.It is working now.

First of all Don't panic! you can do it and you can save a lot of $$$ if you do it yourself. A friend advice me to look it up online resources and came accross part select on YouTube .

The process:
Defrost the fridge. Take down the panels on the fridge to have room to unscrew the back panels. Once you've taken the back panel out. You will see the thermostat right away. Replace it and voila you're done.

Followed the steps in the video on your site, really easy to do.

-unplug power cord.(safety first!
-Removed evaporator cover in freezer. found defrost thermostat defective.
-use hair dryer to manually defrost coil from ice build-up.
-unclip thermostat from coil.
-cut wires close to the defrost thermostat; remove defective thermostat.
-clip on new defrost thermostat.
-connect wires using included butt connectors including shrink tubing (also included)
-replace coil cover.
-plug power cord back in.

Removed the two screws that hold the element in place. Then I pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the wires. Everything matched up perfectly.

Removed supports with pliers and used center punch to push broken plugs out of hole and inserted the new supports.

While waiting for parts I removed the control and side panels, placed duct tape partly over the hole to the freezer to allow fridge cooling and left the panels lay inside plugged up while I monitored the fridge temp. This worked until the parts arrived.

1. Remove 3 hex screws holding (underneath) the front control panel
to the top of the fridge.
2. Remove 2 screws holding the left side assembly. The control panel
and the side assembly come down as 1 L shaped piece.
3. Unplug the large control cable and the small cable then remove
the entire assembly. Note the position of the freezer sensor
extending into the freezer. Separate the control panel from the
side assembly to access the cable bundle.
4. Remove and replace the Damper Control Assembly. Note: You can
remove the complete old styrofoam (glued in place) or cut the tape
holding a 2 part styrofoam section that holds the damper in place
and only replace the upper part. Be sure to tape the 2 styrofoam
parts back together. Make sure the freezer sensor is placed
properly on the Damper assy.
5. Remove and replace the old thermistor assembly, secure the wiring
bundle and reattach the control panel to the side panel.
6. Place the entire assembly back inside, plug up the cables.
7. While supporting both panels insert the freezer sensor in the
proper position and replace the 3 screws securing the control
panel then the 2 screws securing the side panel. Check that the
side panel is flush against the side after installation.
8 Wait about 12 hours for the temperature to stabilize.
