Battery only connects electricity to blower if battery is pushed in and held. Battery works on trimmer without being pushed in. I have cleaned the blower connections. What do I need to look at?
For model number DCBL790M1
Hello David, thank you for getting in touch. It sounds like there might be an issue with the battery connection on the blower itself. Since the battery works fine on the trimmer, the problem is likely with the blower's battery compartment or its connection points. Here are a few things you can check:
1. Inspect the Battery Compartment: Look for any visible damage or deformities in the battery compartment of the blower that might prevent the battery from making a proper connection.
2. Check the Connection Points: Ensure that the metal contacts in the blower's battery compartment are not bent, and making good contact with the battery terminals. Even though you have cleaned them, double-check for any corrosion or debris that might be affecting the connection.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, then you may need to check the battery latch, part number PS12505615. If the latch is not holding the battery securely in place, it might cause the battery to lose contact unless held in. Glad to be of assistance!
