DBVH512GF1GG Dryer - Instructions

I removed the Drier Door and removed the Front Drier Panel exposing the Gas Valve & associated parts. I removed two (2) screws holding the Gas Valve Coils in place & replaced the 2 terminal coil, then replaced the screws, Front Cover & Drier Door. I liked the results so much, I ordered the other Gas Valve Coil and will replace it also when it arrives.

i follow your video and all went well except now the dryer will not heat. i went back on your site an tried the no heat option an still no heat

Worn out top bearing plastic part and worn out felt. Removed top part of the front where the dial and buttons are, then the top, then the front where the parts I was replacing were. It was overall easy and didn't require a cdertified repair person. These were parts that were worn out. I am dissapointed in the GE product. It is only 3 1/2 yrs old and already worn out. Poor design and poor quality parts. I will look at other brands next time when replacing the front loading dryer and washer. Overall a faril;y easy repair that most mechnicaaly oreinted person can do. Also thaks to partselct for the diagrams which helped tremendously with meticulous parts.

Pull the two scews to release the top of the cabinet. Pull the two screws to release the face of the cabinet and tilt out.
Take the old slide out and install the new ones.
Put it back together.

Opened dryer door and removed two screws that held front of top panel on. Lifted top panel off and removed two screws that held front panel to side panels. Tipped front panel forward and replaced all four slides. Cleaned everything off and put back together. Works great again. Thanks for this site and for others that have done these repairs before and posted their stories.

Follow YouTube "how to change dryer's belt" some video is very clear.

Replaced the rear drum bearing, Front drum bearing,front bearing tabs and belt. I replaced the belt from the front of dryer. Better to go thru the back. Much easier.

Replaced front plastic bearing and bearing slides for less than $90.00. The repairman from Sears said it would cost at least $300.00 in parts plus labor to repair it, he suggested buying a new dryer (what an idiot). This was a very easy repair, I found instructions on YouTube. 15 minutes and a Phillips’s screwdriver is all that it took. The dryer runs perfectly with no shudder or squeal.

Son found out where the bulb was by using YouTube. I googled lamp for model number and your website came up. I ordered the part, it arrived promptly, and my son installed it.

I followed the very easy YouTube video and got the three tools I needed before beginning. I started with removing the parts of the dryer and that was extremely simple by following the steps in the video. Took the door off last, located the parts that need replaced that didn't require any tools at all. Then put all the parts of the dryer back on in the order I removed them. The entire process was about 25 minutes but I would say I spent more time really cleaning the dryer and lint build up than actually doing the repair. Video was super thorough and easy to follow, I've never attempted any kind of repair of an appliance and I'm extremely happy that I had the video and the parts that were recommended to fix my problem, were spot on. Saved me hundreds of dollars and time. Thank you so much!

UNPLUG the dryer. I removed the top panel by removing the two screws at the top of the dryer door. There are some hooks toward the back of the top panel, so you'll need to slide it to the left to get it off. The front panel needs to be removed by removing two screws just inside the top left and right corners. Lift and set it aside. I didn't disconnect the door wiring, but you can if you need to do so. I just spun the front panel to the left and out of the way. With the drum exposed, I confirmed the belt was broken. I replaced the belt, then the front panel and top panel. While I was inside the dryer, I did a through cleaning with the vacuum to get all the lint.

My gas dryer would run with heat for 5 minutes in all settings, but kick off and not heat again. Timer would not advance in autodry. Thought it was the cycling thermostat, so replaced that, but did not solve the issue. Ordered the coils, and cleaned out heavily clogged lint from bottom of lint trap, especially right above the fan motor at the bottom of the trap. Received the coils, opened the top and front, took out drum, and replaced the coils. The replacement took less than 2 minutes. Be careful putting the drum back on to make sure the felt is not caught inside the drum. You can give it a spin to make sure. Wear gloves, as I cut myself up pretty good on the edges of the dryer body. The inside of my dryer looks like a crime scene! Anyway, I put it back together, and it runs great. Solved the timer advance issue in autodry, and the heat kicks on and off when it is supposed to. Good luck! Thanks Part Select!

Replaced High limit thermostat per video on the website. However, the flange of new thermostat is flat, while chassis it mounts on is round to conform to drum of dryer. So new thermostat was not flush with chassis. Dryer did not shut off early (that problem solved), but instead continued to dry clothes beyond time necessary. Note that old thermostat had one side of flange slightly bent and probably more flush with chassis, and better able to sense when hot temperatures were reached. I dismantled dryer again, slightly bent new flange, re-installed. Seems to work better now .

I used the PartSelect website to diagnose the problem (three of the four drum bearing slides were completely gone, and the top bearing was very worn), and then used the video instructions on the site to discover that I could most likely do these repairs myself, though I’m not especially handy. The repairs were actually quite easy — I removed the top cover, disconnected the control panel, and removed the front door assembly, then replaced the top bearing and the duct felt seal. I then inserted the new bearing slides into the top bearing, re-attached the front door assembly, re-attached the control panel and top cover, and was done! It works like new! It took me 2 days to receive the parts with normal shipping (ordered Wednesday, received Friday), and it took less than an hour to complete all the repairs, including cleaning the door assembly, vents, etc. Based on estimates I received from local repair services, I saved at least $300.00. Well worth an hour of my time! Great site, service, and instructions!
