Did the repair jut like the instructions on the web site stated. There was a good video for doing this repair. Looked at it a couple of times and did the repair right off the bat. Thanks folks.

Replaced worn out GE Refrigerator Door Hinge Cam Riser WR02X10140
MY issue was a old worn out hinge cam on the right side door of our 1993 GE Profile Refrigerator. My repair went great- exactly as depicted in the PartSelect You Tube video: 'Refrigerator Repair- Replacing the Hinge Cam Riser (GE Part # WR02X10140)' Excellent video! Having the PartSelect on line video demo gave me confidence to buy the part and "just do it" to make the replacement. Watching the video confirmed my own assessment of the (very simple) repair procedure, and eliminated my wife's fear that I would remove the 19 yr old refrigerator door and then not be able to put the door back in place! I ordered two WR02X10140 hinge cam parts so I would have a spare. I know we need a new more energy efficient refrigerator, but our GE Profile is still fine for our family. This hinge cam replacement will give my wife more time to make a well researched decision on our next refrigerator purchase! You made me a 'home hero husband'. Great job- Thanks!!!

There were some great posts on similar repairs that made me realize that it was best to get the whole hinge assembly. The video regarding the repair was completely accurate down to the size of the socket wrench required.

The door would not close from half way open automatically
First I watched the video and everything on that video was correct. I took off the hinge cap with a Philips screw driver on the top of the refrigerator. Then I took out two 5/16" screws with a socket wrench. Removed the hinge and the door lifted off. On the bottom of the door took out one screw and loosened the other one and replaced the Cam Riser. Put everything back together and it worked perfectly.

Broken plastic closure cam
I blocked the bottom of the door(CAREFULLY!!) in position to elevate the door & take strain off the lower hinge & pivot post, while maintaining proper door alignment. I removed the two screws holding the hinge & post assembly from the frame, saving the screws & spacer for reuse. I removed the two screws holding the upper cam bracket on the door, again keeping the attaching parts. I installed and carefully aligned the new cam, original spacer & retaining plate to the lower edge of the door. I installed the new hinge & post assembly using the existing spacer & screws. I aligned the door & seal while checking the gap from top to bottom and from side to side. I carefully tighten the screws and rechecked the gap between the door & frame as well as the alignemnt of the door seal. Once satisfied with the alignment, I finished tightening the screws. I emphasize care and extreme caution in reinstalling the screws, they are a self-tapping (self-threading) type of fastener and this requires caution to make sure they are started and installed in the original threads of the door & frame. I put them all in using only finger pressure until I was positive they were started straight, going into the original threads, NOT trying to cross-thread or cut new threads, the structure is too thin for that and stripped threads will result! The door alignment and gap spacing is critical, make sure to check these adjustments carefully to ensure proper operation. Total time of repair, less than 15 minutes. I hope I have not over-simplified this because I have over 55 years of Automotive shop experienced and an ASE Certified Master Auto & Truck Technician...:-)

Bottom Hinge Wore Out
Set up two saw horses to put door on. Unloaded door shelves. removed upper hinge, and lifted door from lower hinge, placed door on horses. changed lower hinge on refrigerator. put door back on lower hinge, and closed door. Put upper hinge back on. Reloaded door shelves. It took more time to Unload, and Load door shelves than to replace Hinge.

Refrig door did not have a stop point when opened
Repair was exactly as described on U-Tube video. The whole process, including removing items stored on the refrig door, took around 20 minutes and involved only a screwdriver and one socket. Could not have been much easier. Dont know why I delayed fixing what had been a long term annoyance.
