Ice maker stopped making ice, water on floor in back corner of fridge by water line
For model number B21CL81SNS/04
Hello Mathew, thank you for getting in touch. The combination of the ice maker stopping and water pooling on the floor in the back corner near the water line points to a faulty water inlet valve. Start by pulling the refrigerator out and shutting off the home water supply line to prevent further leaking. Inspect the water inlet valve housing and the quick connect fittings where the supply line connects, look for cracks in the plastic valve body, a loose connection, or any signs of moisture around the fittings. If the valve body is cracked or leaking from the housing, it will need to be replaced. The water inlet valve for your model is listed under part numbers PS11771434. A cracked or failing inlet valve will simultaneously cut water supply to the ice maker and leak onto the floor, which matches your exact symptoms. We hope this helps.
I reinforced the ice cube tray rectangular slot with a thin .080" plastic disc cut to fit the ice tray - you need to remove the cube tray from the round holder, add the reinforcement around the plastic slot then reinstall. Also, I polished the cube trays with Carnuba wax (food safe) to better release the ice.
All is well now, and I have 2 spare ice trays modified and ready to install.
This is a tray design issue - Bosch should increase thickness of the molded plastic fitment and tray where the ice tray engages the motor.
Very easy, it took about 30 minutes. Loosening 4 screws, unplugging motor connection, then plugging in new motor and then tightening up the screws again. The hardest part was taking off the freezer drawer. There are youtube videos to veiw which was very helpful.
I ordered a bottom container shelf for the left door of a Bosch refrigerator. I received a container shelf for the right door. The part cost $11.85. Shipping was $7.95. I contacted the company and was offered a refund if I returned it, but there was no offer to pay for the shipping.
I decided not to return it, because even with a refund for the part, I would be out $16 and have no part. Maybe someday I will need a container shelf for the right door.
