My mower suddenly stopped just like running out of fuel.. I have fuel, spark and clean air filter. Cleaned and checked the carb bowl..all looks good. Just crank and no start. Checked plug and was dry,would not even start with starter fluid. Makes no sense, everything's there. Do I need to open the carb and check the flap? I'm a shade tree mch..lol. thanks for your help
PS: mower is about 7 yrs old and in good shape, reg maintained

Hi Kenneth, thank you for the question. Make sure your fuel filter is also clean and the spark plug wire is firmly connected to the spark plug. Remove the flywheel and check the flywheel key. Check the wire harness connection on the fuel solenoid valve. Reconnect the valve wire harness if you found it disconnected. Check the fuel line from the fuel tank to the carburetor for clogs or damage, clear any clogs. Make sure the fuel pump is moving gas through the fuel line to the carburetor. If the issue is still persisting, we recommend replacing the carburetor overhaul kit, part number PS9983616. We hope this information is useful!
I have a solid understanding of small engines. This pressure washer was used twice in 2013, when purchased. Sat in a garage for a couple of years with gas in tank and carburetor. Owner was moving and after 7 years of moving it around he sold it at a garage sale. I took it home and took off gas tank and thoroughly cleaned it. Then went through the carburetor and let soak in cleaner. Cleaned up the spark plug, tested and has good spark. reinstalled carburetor but would not start. I knew I had gas issues. I ordered a carburetor kit and replace the needle valve and seals. Still would not start. Ordered a new carburetor and spark plug. Installed both. Two pulls and it runs like new. Advice: don't try to clean out old carburetor, just buy a new one and install.
