When I ordered the part over the phone was told it just snaps in. Not sure what it meant. Parts delivery was prompt. Looked at the part and it’s pisition on the dryer.And it really was very simple.

Just popped it into place. Was very easy. Took less than 5 minutes.

I opened the package with my new handle in it that I got from PartSelect, and snapped it right in place. No tools needed, took only seconds!

removed two screws from lint screen raised top removed two nut screw from front disconnected lid wire lifted front up and off removed drum cleaned all dust out replaced pulley unit with new one (with a wheel) replaced tub held it up with a bungey cord put on new belt and reassembled unit tested out back in business

Found the belt was broken and the pulley wheel had melted, replaced the belt and the pulley, could not have been simpler. Watched the video on how to repair and in less than 15 mins was fixed. Saved a lot of money by doing it myself.

Lint can build up inside the dryer, and can cause a fire in EXTREME cases. If your model has a back panel that exposes the entire chute, this job is much easier. Unscrew the chute from the machine to remove it. Inspect and clean all the lint out, especially the bottom, next to the fan blower. The other version machine has a panel at the top that is welded on. Remove the two screws at the top corner of the rear bulkhead, where the chute is. Gently pull this inner panel away to free the top of the chute from the rear top panel. Then pull the chute down and out. Follow the reverse to complete the job.

I started by removing the back of the dryer thinking that was the proper procedure. That is where I found the broken belt. After purchasing the belt I found belt replacement instructions on-line. The instructions guide you through simple steps to remove the two screws in the area where the lint filter is on top of the dryer. The top then simply lifts back exposing the drum. Two more screws just inside the top of the front panel and two screws to remove the door switch assembly and your in. That is where I found the bent idler pulley assembly that pops free when the belt breaks. I purchased the part and followed the directions and then re-assembled the dryer. Dryer works like new. The most important thing I learned through this is that I believe I can now fix anything that breaks on my dryer. With the all the information that is available on-line and the easy access to replacement parts dryer repair is really cheap and simple. Makes me wish I had done some troubleshooting on my previous dryer before I replaced it. Also going through the back of the dryer was a waste of time.

My husband is the repairman here, not I. My dryer just seemed to quit working. He pops the top and determines it wasn't the belt. He takes off the front and removes the drum -- not so easy in our little, crowded laundry room. He turns the motor and determines that it is difficult to turn, so we must need a new motor. I go to parts select on my computer in the adjoining bedroom to read instructions on how to change the motor. You have to take off the back, and then remove the intake cover, I tell him. He does so. "Oh," he says "what's this? I think I see the problem." Suddenly, he bolts from the room and runs to the kitchen. I hear him furiously scrubbing his hands. He comes back, gets a long necked pair of needle-nose pliers from the garage, reaches into the dryer, and extracts a very big, ugly, and very dead rat. EEEWWWW! Mr. Rat had apparently crawled in thru the dryer exhaust, which is vented on our roof, and wrapped himself around the motor. The motor, by the way, was fine after all. Thank heavens he got to the repair quickly before, well, you know! So he determined that we may as well replace the little gizmo the drum belts go on, as it was worn, so he did that easily and I was back in the laundry business, so to speak. Thank you, Parts Select, for your speedy delivery and helpful repair stories. I doubt this story will help anyone, but it may get a laugh.

I have to tell you the partselect.com video describing the replacement of a belt was the best I have ever seen. I chose to replace the idler pulley as well after receipt of the ordered belt and this was a good decision. The net of it was watching the video a couple times in advance of the effort was all the training required. I followed the video steps, found the old pulley, threw it away, ordered the new idler pulley, taped the new belt onto the drum, inserted the pulley, wrapped the belt past the pulley and onto the motor as instructed and applauded the ease of this effort.

My dryer belt broke and we bought a belt from some other appliance store. Well, after putting on the new belt we broke the idler pulley. Rather than running to the store again (30 miles away), I bought the part online using PartSelect. The part search was easy, the exploded views were very helpful, and the online shopping was great! Delivery was fast too! I'm happy to say my dryer is back online thanks to PartSelect!

real simple,remove the two screws that holds the lent trap,then use a flat head screw driver to pop the front of the top up.then remove the two screws that holds the front to the sides,now lay the dryer on its back and remove the front and set it aside.now carefully pull the tub straight up and set aside.the idler pulley has probably fallen off its track,but know worries,it will go back once you have installed new belt.clean all of the lent that has been stuck around everything over the years.put the tub back in place,making sure that it ligns up correct.now put the new belt back making sure that it ligns up with the old marks.place the idler pulley back in place and turn the tub counter clocwwise to make sure it is aligned.put front back in place and snap the top on and reinstall the two screws in lent trap.

I looked at two or three repair stories on your site and followed the advice given there.

Three major things helped:

First, access to the innards by lifting the top AFTER RELEASING THE CLIPS AT THE FRONT USING A PUTTY KNIFE or similar - very helpful.

Second, instructions on removing the front panel and pulling out the drum were helpful

Third, a caution about checking and re-seating the rear drum seal using a putty knife or similar - I wouldn't have noticed that the seal was curled over in a couple of places without that warning - I'm sure it frequently gets bent over when replacing the drum.

PartSelect was very helpful and very quick in getting me the parts needed. I didn't realize I needed the idler pulley until after I received the belt I had ordered, but the pulley came so fast it really didn't matter - gave me time to clean out bags of lint - the worst part of the job.

Dryers are very simple, but hardy and enduring machines - enjoyed making a 30+(?) year old machine run like new.

Followed Directions included with Kit. Directions were right on. Have done other Range and Drier conversions in the past.

I just followed the instructions provided, after taking a long look as to whether it really applied to our dryer. Just take your time and install the unit as you removed it. We removed the unit by first removing gas line, then two screws on the side and it was out. Put on stopper, followed by switching out the orfice.
