How to replace a belt?
For model number 1060
Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your question. To remove the old belt, first remove the bottom plate off the vacuum. Depending on the type of vacuum you have, you will either need to use an Allen key or a screwdriver to remove the screws. Once the screws have been removed, remove the bottom plate. You may need to press it down and pull it out to remove it. To replace the belt, you will need to remove the brush. To do this, just pull it out from the vacuum and take the brush from the inside of the belt. Once the brush has been removed, you will need to remove the belt from the pulley. Slide it off to the side of the pulley and it will come off. When you remove the new belt from the packaging, you will notice that it is smaller than the old belt. The reason for this, is that the old belt has stretched over time. Slide the new belt around the pulley inside the vacuum and then insert the brush through the center of the belt. On the opposite side of the brush there is a squared off section. Install this side of the brush first. Then lift the side of the brush with belt on it and snap it into the vacuum housing. Reinstall the bottom plate and secure it with the screws. Your vacuum should now work for you. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.
