If your engine does not start, starts with difficulty, or has insufficient power, it could be in need of a new sprocket. This is a 6-tooth OEM sprocket measuring 3/8-Inches. This sprocket is attached to the brake drum. Due to constant contact with the chain, the sprocket can wear over time. You should replace the drive sprocket systems every two chains, or sooner. It is important that you never run a new chain on a badly worn drive sprocket. This is a part that should be inspected regularly.
