If your oven isn’t heating right or the temperature keeps changing, this sensor could be the problem. It helps your oven stay at the right temperature by sending signals to the control board. When it’s not working, you might notice uneven cooking or error messages. Swapping it out is a simple fix that can get your oven back to working properly—just be sure to unplug it before starting.

The oven would not hold an even temperature.
I used a Trox bit to remove one screw, replaced the oven sensor and reinstalled the screw. The whole project took less than 5 minutes.

The oven was burning when cooking at same temperature we always cooked it on
there was one screw holding it on the back wall of the oven. It was easy enough that my daughter installed it with my guidance.

Change a broken oven door glass
Opened the screws holding the handle of the door, then insert the new glass and retighten the screws holding the handle back in place.
Changed the Temperature Sensor as you suggested, but the problem of 40 minutes to reach a temperature of 375 degrees F. remained the same.

The top oven has a F20 error code what is wrong with it? And what part do I need?
For model number JT5500SF005SS
Hello Connie, thank you for writing. If your GE oven has an F2 (or F20) error code, the oven is detecting that the temperature inside the oven has exceeded a preset threshold. It means the temperature has exceeded 915 degrees Fahrenheit during a self-cleaning cycle. You will need to check the Temperature Sensor part PS8754411 and the Oven Control PS12296184. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.

L’element broil ne fonctionne plus est ce le sensor ou l’element ?
For model number Jck5000sf2ss
Bonjour Bernard, Merci pour la question. Si l'élément de cuisson fonctionne toujours, l'élément de gril, pièce # : PS8755292 serait défectueux. Nous espérons que cela vous aidera !

oven will not turn off it says it is off but heat is still on 250 degrees with no lights on
For model number jt3500sf5ss
Hi Rick, thank you for reaching out. We would suggest checking the oven temperature sensor, part number PS8754411. It is designed to monitor and regulate the internal temperature. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!

Do I have to remove the GE double wall oven from the wall in order to replace the temp sensor? I can loosen the old sensor in the upper oven and pull it out about an inch. There does not appear to be any/enough slack in the wire to get the plug to come out to unplug the old sensor. Some ranges need to have the back panel removed to reach this plug. Is this true for this GE oven?
For model number PK7500SF2SS
Hi Walter, thank you for contacting us. The temperature sensor is at the back of the oven. You have to remove the back panel to change the sensor. For removing the back panel, the oven should be removed from the wall. We have also attached a relevant video to help you replace the sensor. We hope this information is helpful.

when oven is set to 400 or more the temperature will read 50 degrees hotter according to oven thermometer (i have 2 new thermometers i bought to test accuracy after having temperatures read high on old thermometer) i adjusted the temperature according to oven settings as much as -35 degrees and it still reads high. should i replace the sensor? if so will it be necessary to pull the oven unit (has attached microwave) off the wall or can i pull the sensor through the opening and plug in the new one. It will be very difficult to remove from the wall cabinet
For model number JK3800DH3WW
Hello Peggy, Thank you for your inquiry. You can test the sensor with a multimeter to see if it is faulty. It should test between 1000-1100 ohms. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. We have also included a link to our video on installing a similar sensor to give you a general idea of the repair. We hope this helps you.
My oven is overheating setpoint, ie 450 deg F at 350 setpoint. I took sensor out and measured ohms, was about 1000. Gently heated bulb with lighter and resistance increased gradually. What is next item to test?
For model number ct9050sh1ss
Hello Joe, thank you for reaching out. We would recommend checking the Control Board Assembly, part number PS12295192. Also, check the Bake Element, part number PS11729137, and Broil Element, part number PS11762654, for continuity using a multimeter. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service!
I get "communication with lower oven" error when I use any of the functions. Light also will not work.
The upper microwave/oven works fine.
Is this a control panel error or possibly the temp sensor. If you feel it is a temp sensor does the double oven need to be removed from wall to change? Thank you
For model number PT9800SH4ss
Hi Eric, thank you for reaching out. The communication with the lower oven means that your lower oven relay power board isn't sending a good signal to the display board. First, flip the breaker off to the oven and see if the board will reset. You need to uninstall the oven and remove the top sheet metal panel. Check the wire connections between the board to ensure they are securely plugged in. If your issue is still not resolved, you may need to check the oven relay board, part number PS12722611. We hope this solves your problem!

The lower oven light does not go off when the door closes.
For model number JTD3000SN1SS
Hello Amy, thank you for reaching out. We have researched the model and it seems that the issue is caused because of a faulty door latch, part number PS12226850. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Both wall ovens will shut down and give a code f3 during the pre heat
For model number JTD3000SN1SS
Hi Maxine, thank you for reaching out. We have researched and found that the F3 error usually means that there is a problem with the oven sensor. You may need to check the temperature sensor, part number PS8754411, and replace it if necessary. We hope this solves your problem!
