Fridge will not dispense water as ice or frost accumulates around the hard plastic water container on the back wall of the fridge. Ice or frost is seen through the grating on the back wall as well. Why is this occurring and how can this be repaired? I have used a hairdryer to melt the ice or frost and the water dispenser then works. I have a suspicion that the fridge is not defrosting as it should.

Hello Bill, Thank you for the question. I agree this sounds like a defrost issue. I suggest checking the Defrost Heater PartSelect Number PS8734352. You can test the heater with a multi meter and check for continuity. Hope this helps!
