WhAt does duct air motor do and can it make noise at times and shut off when door is open?

Hi Moore, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, the duct door motor opens and shuts the ice door on the ice dispenser chute. The problem is not with the duct door motor. The noise issue could most probably be because of the evaporator fan motor, part number PS12172983. It circulates cold air through the refrigerator and freezer compartments. When the door is opened, many refrigerators stop the fan to save energy and reduce cold air loss. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope that helps!
