Ice maker does not make ice, doesn’t seem to get water into the system but the in-door water dispenser works fine. Ice dispenser works, and ice does not melt when put into the dispenser box

Hello Ted, Thank you for your inquiry. You could have an issue with the ice maker side of the dual water inlet valve, or an issue with the ice maker. We have included a link to our video on how to test the water inlet valve with a multimeter, and how to test the ice maker for any issues. We also recommend checking the tubes for any clogs or damage. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. Hello Krist, Thank you for your inquiry. This part is the water inlet valve that supplies both the ice maker and water dispenser in the upper section. PS8690734 would be the water inlet valve that supplies the lower ice maker. We hope this helps you.

Do or will the refrigerator dual water valve cause the 90-degree coupling to leak . The water come from around where the tube fit into the coupling. I have water coming out of that area when the water dispenser is activated. Thanks for your time and respond.
For model number PFE29PSDCSS
PartSelect logo
Hello Charles, thank you for your question. If the part that is leaking is the 90 degree coupling on the valve itself, its likely that the inside of that coupling is cracked or not sealing properly. Try to remove the tube and reinsert the tube to see if you can get back a good seal around that tube. If there are no holes or cracks in the tube, and the leak continues, you would want to replace that water valve. I hope this helps!

To connect my 1/4-inch water tubing to this fridge do I need a 1/4 NPT fitting or is it a different size.
For model number PYE22KYNFS
PartSelect logo
Hello Klaus, Thank you for your inquiry. For this particular part, we show that it has been redesigned by the manufacturer so that the water tubes should just insert into the fittings on the valve (you need to remove the clips underneath the fittings). Good luck with your repair.

Neither the ice make or water dispenser are working. Prior to this the ice maker struggled to make cubes of sufficient size and frequency. Upon returning home after a vacation there was some water on the floor, inadequate cooling everywhere and some lights not working. We defrosted everything and plugged back in. There was a periodic buzzing from what I assume to be the dual solenoid valve. Everything works now except the ice maker and water dispenser. They quit along with the buzzing. No further leaks but no water or ice. We replaced the main circuit board. No help. Replace dual solenoid valve? Thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Paul, thank you for reaching out. The dual water inlet valve is located on the left side door of the refrigerator inside the panel. We have found relevant instructions to access the dual water inlet valve. These may not be of the same model but will help you to access it. You may need to follow these steps: 1. Lift the door bin up and out. 2. Remove the screws holding the panel in place using a driver. 3. Pull the panel away from the door. 4. Remove the waterline clips using a plier. 5. To remove the water lines, press the tabs in on the valves while pulling out on the water lines. 6. Depress the locking tab on the dispenser refrigerator housing. 7. Slide the valve to the left, then out. We hope this information helps!

How does this connect? I have checked the fridge and it has a different valve installed. Only one connection with water line and one plug for selinoid. The is two split water lines on the top right back that has no connection on the lines. Water comes out of dispenser in front but no water or ice goes to the ice tray. I have ordered a new ice maker and water valve just don’t know how to reconnect. Thanks for your help.
For model number GFE26GSKBSS

Hello Shawn, thank you for reaching out. We have researched and found that you may need to follow these instructions in order to reconnect the dual water inlet valve. These instructions may not be of the same model but will help you with the process: 1. Insert the tab on the left side of the valve into the dispenser housing, then press the valve back into the retaining slot until it locks into place. 2. Insert the water lines until they bottom out, then slightly pull back to make sure it is locked in place. 3. Install the clips and reconnect the electrical connector. 4. Align the cover, reinstall the screws and set the door bin back in place. We hope this helps!
