The water dispenser lever came off, due to broken tabs in the door panel.
Before you begin, I'd recommend unplugging the refrigerator. You have to slip the putty knife in around the edge of the dispenser panel and carefully release the tabs all the way around and the entire panel pulls straight out. There are three wiring harnesses to unplug. You'll have to remove several screws and release the tabs around the electronic panel and remove it from the main panel. It's a good idea to take note or even pictures of how the ice and water actuators are positioned on the panel, so you get them situated properly on the new panel. If the ice actuator is not fit correctly on a knob that sticks up it may dispense ice all the time (happened to me). After you transfer the actuators to the new panel and the ice and water dispensing levers, you can re-attach the electronic panel on the left side. make sure all of the wiring harnesses are plugged in and the wires situated out of the way, then re-install the panel by pushing it straight back in. Plug the refrigerator in and test it out.

I just need the cover, dispenser for my LG refrigerator, the plastic pieces broke that hold it on. We can use our fingers to dispense ice, i just need the plastic cover. It is telling me to see 279b but i cannot read the diagram, it is blurry and too small. Could you confirm this is the piece i am needing? The part on the piece that broke is psmbg641078?
For model number LFX31925ST
Hi Tisha,
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, this should be the correct part. It is the part that sets in the door of the fridge and the touchpad and the grill would be placed over it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Wanting to replace part 279b, which is the front panel of the water and ice dispenser. How difficult is it to replace? I do not see any obvious way to get inside the door to remove and replace the panel.
For model number LFXS29766S
Hi Robert, thank you for your question. It generally is not too difficult. You just have to be careful. We do not have a video showing how your part installs specifically but we do have a video that can show you how installation like this are usually done. You can view that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_s7GJsQkr0. This will not look the same as your appliance but the process is very similar. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
