Hello Kim, thank you for your question. The magnetic door plunger attaches to the inner door panel of the washer. It holds the door open when the washer is not running, and allows the door and tub seal to dry. This prevents mold and mildew from building up. If you're getting water collected in the door, and the front drain it could be caused by this part. I would suggest replacing the plunger to see if that fixes the issue. I hope this helps!

Hi Berrie, Thank you for your question. The DE error code is letting you know that the washing machine door was not able to lock. Here is some information from the LG website that may help you, "1.Press POWER to turn the washer off. 2. Unplug the washer from the power outlet or turn the circuit breaker to turn the unit off. 3. With the power disabled, press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 5 seconds. 4. Plug the washer back in, or turn the circuit breaker back on. 5. For more information about how to reset your specific model, please refer to the owner's manual." The magnetic door plunger for your model is under part PS3618292, and we would not recommend using the washer without the part, since it is part of the door assembly and could interrupt the wash in the middle of the cycle if the door isn't secured shut.
